The walk we had up the lane was really special today, not only did we see more of the cutest lambs, but as we got to just beyond the railway bridge...the smell of the spring grass was absolutely amazing...the earth warming up by the heat of the sun. We are so lucky to be in the countryside here in Gargrave.

We had a wonderfully relaxing, creative and sensory afternoon in the conservatory today. We spent time with friends and visitors while we flower arranged with camellias, tulips, lavender, rosemary and interesting snippets of greenery from the garden here at Milton House. We loved the jam jar posies we made the best as it reminded us of how we used to make use of glass jars at home when we picked stems from the rose bush! Beautiful! 😍

Happy Mothers Day to all the Mums out there! We have been thrilled by the response our Mother’s Day cards and gifts have had being received today. Our residents love being thought of so kindly at this time of year. “The flowers and cards give us such a lift and make us feel very special.” Big hugs to all the Mothers out there, you do such a lot for us all year round! Whether you are working today, caring for others or are at home with family, your contribution is so very much appreciated! Enjoy your day what ever way you are celebrating it! 🌷🤗❤️🌼😘

We also talked about memories of our Mothers in honour of this coming Sunday .
One lady said her mother was a wonderful gardener who grew flowers 🌺 in the garden to sell to the local florist 🌹 and looked after her brother who was very poorly .💐🥰
Another lady said my mum was not a good cook 👩‍🍳 but she did make a good fruit cake 🍰 and that she was strict and we always had to be in early at night .
Another memory from one of our ladies was what a very hard working mother I had , she was so tough . When the snow ❄️ blocked us in for weeks she put on my dad’s wellies and went on a tractor 🚜to Settle to get all our neighbours and our shopping . But she was very strict and I never remember sitting on her knee for a cuddle so I made sure I always did that with my children . 🥰
