ππ» I'm Lauren ~ Yorkshire Dales based π‘ Lover of nature, movement, music and magic β¨
I first tried Yoga at uni when I was looking for a way to manage stress and keep fit. Over the next decade my practise ebbed and flowed, but I returned to the mat again and again to support me through life's ups and downs ποΈ
I came to know that Yoga isn't just movement, but an approach to life π§π»ββοΈ
As a Social Worker for many years, I've always advocated for accessibility and inclusivity - something I didn't see represented much in the 'Yoga community'.
I trained as a Yoga Teacher in 2021. I was frustrated by the lack of holistic support and preventative medicine in health and social care π As well as the lack of emphasis on staff wellbeing π€·π½ββοΈ
I knew I could facilitate Yoga in a way that meets people where they are. Sharing these tools for wellbeing with people of all abilities, sizes and backgrounds - as they are supposed to be!
I went on to study Sound as another tool for accessing meditative states πΆ I now own various instruments including crystal singing bowls, gongs, drums and chimes πͺ which I use to weave soundscapes that help slow down the brain wave state, supporting deeper relaxation, creativity and rest.
Nature's seasons and cycles inspire what I share and I love to weave in the outdoors where I can πΏ π
Yoga doesn't solve life's challenges, but it CAN help us to live well despite them.
If you've ever thought you can't do yoga because you're not flexible / calm / thin /[insert other applicable word here] enough... Let me show you otherwise π π
