We have news… *takes deep breath*…

After an incredible, life-changing 2.5 years on our business journey together at Holistic House Skipton, we (Banu & Bethan) are parting ways. Never in heart or spirit, but in location and practicality ♥️

Since we came up with the idea to set up Holistic House in 2022/23, we have grown and evolved beyond our wildest dreams!

What started as two friends meeting for a drink at our local pub and naively saying ‘shall we give it a go? What do you reckon?!’ has since become a multi-award winning thriving local business, with a beautiful abundant community, so many new friends, colleagues and connections, and we’ve held one another’s hands through some tremendous highs and lows over the past few years.

However, the time has come for big decisions to be made with how the space looks and how our businesses evolve moving forward, and so in honour of our own growth, we’ve decided to step tentatively towards what our hearts and souls are yearning to be created from us, separately.

Banu’s Pilates business, The Pilates Room, has grown from strength-to-strength and she’s ready to expand! For those of you who know our building, you probably have guessed that the practicalities of moving the Reformer apparatus each time there’s a mat class is less than ideal, and she has exciting plans for her new space which is a beautiful two-storey building in Sandylands Business Park. It will have the same Banu-stamp of love, warmth, vibrancy and high-quality professional teaching! Follow ❤️‍🔥

And as for Holistic House Skipton… we’re staying (we’ve just signed for another 3 years eek) and evolving too! Over the next couple of months you’ll see updates on what’s coming over here 👀 but it’s fulllll to the brim of even more depth, community, creativity, love and heart.

Our doors will be closed from 30th December - 5th January for refurbishments, and we’ll both be back in the new year with the next phase of evolution! 🌀

We are very much still supporting one another and working along side each other, and we hope you’ll continue to support us as much as you have done, too ✨✨

A little shout out to this incredible offering and to ❤️‍🔥✨ last week I (Bethan) had the honour of witnessing the arrival and settling in of this group. As the sessions used to run on a Saturday evening, I was never there to see and feel the impact. Now that it’s just after my yoga class, I get to see everyone, which is lovely!

There were 10+ men there last week, and as everybody came in, the only way I can describe the feeling I received was one of intense love and gratitude for this circle and this space for men to come together away from the pub, and also away from ‘mental health’, through these beautiful practices that help us daily to recognise that we are not our thoughts, and to become the watcher - the observer of the stories and the characters we play in them - rather than to be so sucked into them.

I remember Dan and I speaking about this group a year or so ago, as I recognised there was a need for something like this in Skipton. The way that Dan delivers his sessions is so full of heart, but in a really accessible, grounded way too.

I left the building with tears in my eyes from just feeling the energy of the space.

Strength, clarity and tenderness all held in one melting pot of inner enquiry… through breathwork and through Vedic meditation.

If you, or you know anybody who you think could benefit from this space - it happens once per month on a Wednesday evening.
