Fit for Purpose We provide massage, bike setup, biomechanics coaching to help people recover from injury and perform at their best in their chosen activity.

Fit for Purpose began purely focussed on massage therapy but has evolved into a more holistic solution. Our aim is to encourage physical and mental wellbeing by providing treatment of acute and chronic conditions, physiological and nutritional assessment and coaching to help our clients meet their individual aspirations and potential. Whether you dream of walking a mile or competing at elite level, we are here to support you. All the members of our team are passionate about sport and fitness – from participating in it to the science behind it – and this passion shines through in everything we do.

As some of you know or have seen the sign, Fit for Purpose is moving premises in the next couple of months. I am moving back to Albert Street very near to my first Skipton clinic and will be concentrating on the clinic side of the business.

I will still be offering soft tissue therapy and sports massage to help with injuries or everyday aches and pains with rehab advice and exercises aiming to help all clients perform at their best whether in sport or life. I will also still be offering running gait analysis and bike fitting.

The shop will not be continuing after the move and therefore all shoes and clothing are reduced with up to 50% off full price. So call in and pick up a bargain in the last few weeks of the sale. The shop isn’t open full time at the moment while I am busy with clients. It’s usually open between 9 and 10am as well as another couple of hours each day so get in touch and we can find a time to suit you.

Look out for more notifications of the move as I prepare my new Fit for Purpose clinic.

🤞Reopening plans 🤞

A year ago we were heading into the first lockdown but now things are looking brighter and there is some positive news that we are hopefully able to reopen for face to face therapy appointments as well as the shop from 12th April. That’s less than 4 weeks to go ! 😊

It will be confirmed nearer the time and I’ve not started taking bookings just yet in case things change. I have a list of people who have been in touch wanting appointments and I’ll be in touch soon to get those booked in. If anyone else would like an appointment on reopening please get in touch by email or phone and we can get that sorted.

If anyone wants advice or help before then, again just get in touch and we’ll try and help either with a phone or video consultation.

Hopefully this is the last time we’ll be preparing to reopen and it is the start of getting back to our safe, active and healthy lives without restrictions. 🤞💪🤸‍♀️🚵‍♂️🏊‍♀️🏃‍♀️☀️

There is still also the sale on clothing and New Balance shoes that was promised for January! 👟👟👕

Stay safe and I look forward to seeing you all again soon.😀

Following the government announcement of lockdown 3 we are once again having to close the shop and clinic at Fit for Purpose. Guidance from our Professional Associations means we are currently unable to provide face to face treatments and appointments. Although frustrating we have to close again, with the increase in Covid cases nationally and locally this seems the sensible and right decision at this time.

However, we are still here to help and support you through this time. So if you have any queries or concerns with injuries or pain and want some advice on how to manage and rehab injuries please do get in touch.

If you have an appointment booked and I’ve not yet contacted you I will be in touch soon.

Hopefully this will only be for a few weeks and we can all get back to seeing people, going places and doing what we want safely soon.

Take care and see you soon
Christine

Well, clarification came late yesterday but the good news is...

The clinic can stay open to treat clients with pain or injury during this lockdown period.

Get in touch if you want to discuss appointments and how we can help.

The shop will remain closed until the beginning of December. We can provide a call/email and collect service for shop items if anyone wants anything specific, rehab products, running shoes or clothing, just get in touch for details.

***Covid-19 Update***
We are still waiting for clarification following the lockdown announcement on Saturday. It is looking likely that the shop and clinic will both have to close from Thursday 5th November, hopefully reopening on 2nd December but specific details have yet to be released.
If you have an appointment booked from Thursday I will be in touch if we do have to close and it needs to be rearranged.
Hopefully the details will become clear before Thursday!

The shop has very limited opening hours for the next 2 days while I am busy with clinic appointments. If anyone wants anything from the shop get in touch and we’ll arrange a convenient time for you to call in.

19/07/2020

The clinic is now open and we can offer face to face appointments again.
There are restrictions and extra safety procedures in place so please bear with us as we get used to the new way of working. There is also a reduced capacity for treatments but we will do our best to fit everyone in as soon as we can.

If you want to make an appointment or have any questions then please get in touch.

We look forward to welcoming you back.

25/06/2020

We are currently still unable to reopen the clinic for sports massage and soft tissue therapy treatments and don’t yet have a date for reopening.
Our professional associations are working hard to get some clarity on when we can get back to work and help support all our clients again. We are working on plans to keep everyone safe with extra precautions and cleaning in place when we can reopen.

The shop is open part time so you can always call in for a socially distanced chat about any injuries, or get in touch by phone or email for advice.

We will update when we have a date to take appointments and look forward to seeing you back in the clinic, hopefully sometime soon.

15/06/2020

The shop is reopening from today and we are ready to safely look after your running and rehab needs.
Only one customer will be in the shop at any time. Appointments are available if you want to come at a specific time to suit you.
Hand sanitiser is available to use on entry.
Shoes can be tried on and tested on the treadmill.
Opening this week will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am.
Call in or get in touch if we can help you.
