This time of year can be tricky with shorter days and everything seeming to slow down, including us. 😴

I always notice the dip in energy and motivation and there’s always a pull to hibernate a bit and honestly, that’s okay.

We’re not meant to keep the same pace all year round.

It’s a good time to create a slower rhythm and rest and reset while looking for the small bits of light that still show up.

So, this is just your little reminder that you don’t have to fight the season. Do what feels best for you and your body will thank you. 🌙

I’ve been feeling really grateful for my work lately. 🫶

I’m genuinely thankful that I get to do what I do, and it’s something that truly helps people feel better in themselves.

It’s so easy to rush through the day and forget the small things and if you saw my previous post you’d know those are the things that stick with me.

If you’re trying to notice more of the good stuff and the things you’re grateful for, here’s a quick tip.

👉 Before bed, think of three things from your day that made you smile, even if it was something really small.

It helps your mind slow down and shift focus to the positives, which in turn offers a better nights sleep, and a better day ahead. 🥰

Something we forget is that even small acts can help us slow down and reconnect with ourselves. You don’t need a 10 step morning routine to give yourself what you need.

Here are a few things you can do to help you move through the rest of this week and hopefully serve as a reminder to take care of you:

✨ Pause & breathe:
Sometimes one of the most powerful in the moment self-care techniques we can do is taking a few deep breaths when things feel tough.

✨ Listen to your body:
Tension, fatigue and restlessness are signs your body needs nourishment or rest - always listen and take a moment to give it what it needs.

✨ Rest is productive:
Your worth isn’t measured by how much you do. Resting restores your energy to keep going.

✨ Make space for you:
Whether it’s a massage, a walk or just a night watching TV with your favourite snack in peace - just 10 minutes of time to yourself can make your whole day.

✨ Balance is healing:
Holistic care nurtures your body, mind and spirit which can make a huge difference to your overall wellbeing.

✨ Small steps count:
Even if it’s just giving yourself a glass of water or an early night, consistently, you’ll see the difference over time.

There’s side to what I do that can’t really be taught. 🥰

It’s the feeling of helping someone exhale for the first time all day and knowing someones body finally feels safe enough to release the tension it’s been holding on to for sometimes too long.

Massage and sound therapy for me isn’t just about easing muscles and soothing tension, it’s also about holding space for people who more often than not, don’t have a chance to hold space for themselves.

And I think that’s something I love most about this work. 💗

It’s that time of year when everything is a little bit colder, a little bit darker, and a little bit damp and with the festive season approaching, it’s the perfect time to begin slowing down. 🌙

As the animals crawl into their cozy dens ready to hibernate, we too need to make sure we are taking care of ourselves throughout winter.

Whether it’s with a cozy book, surrounded by warm oils, soothing massage or just a duvet day wherever you can - it can really help ease the tension this time of year can bring.

One of my favourite tips is to try a 30-minute self-massage with warming oil before bed to help relax your muscles and mind. It doesn’t need to be a full body - that probably wouldn’t be as relaxing as we’d hope, but your arms, legs, stomach or even head.
