🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 From Burns Night to Birthday Bites! 🎂

We have had a wonderfully busy few days here at Craven Nursing Home, filled with tradition, treats, and plenty of smiles. Our weekend was dedicated to celebrating Burns Night, where we enjoyed a lovely mix of bracing walks, themed quizzes, and poetry readings to honour the Scottish Bard.

The celebrations continued into Monday as we marked a resident's 77th birthday. It was a fantastic afternoon that involved no fewer than three birthday cakes, followed by a lively dominoes social. Yesterday, our residents spent a kind-hearted morning preparing a fresh fruit salad for their friends on Heron, before gathering for a peaceful church service in the afternoon.

It is always a joy to see everyone coming together for a "wee bit" of fun and friendship.

A wonderful start to the weekend here at Craven Nursing Home! 🌟

We got our Friday off to an active start over on Heron with some fun ball exercises, which is always a great way to boost energy and get everyone moving together. ⚽️💪

The creativity was flowing in the afternoon as we spent some time making beautiful wooden plaques. These personal masterpieces were specially designed to decorate the ladies' bedrooms, adding a lovely unique touch to their personal spaces. It was wonderful to see everyone so focused on their designs! 🎨✨

🌳 Thriving Thursday at Craven Nursing Home!

Yesterday, we swapped our usual schedule for a very special "Thriving Thursday"! 🌟

We kicked off the morning by focusing on our hardworking team. The staff enjoyed a well-deserved break with plenty of refreshments and snacks. To keep the positivity growing, everyone wrote a mindful quote on a leaf to add to our beautiful staff room tree. It’s wonderful to see such encouraging words flourishing in our home! 🍃☕

The afternoon was just as magical as we welcomed the talented Liberty Vocals. They took our residents on a nostalgic trip down memory lane with a fantastic performance. There was plenty of singing, tapping toes, and shared memories as we enjoyed those classic hits together. 🎶🎤

It was a day full of smiles, treats, and music—exactly what "thriving" is all about!

🍰 Laughter, Treats, and Celebrations at Craven Nursing Home!

We have had a wonderful few days filled with smiles, sweet treats, and some very special milestones.

A Terrific Tuesday 🧑‍🍳

We started our day with some relaxing one-to-one room visits, where residents enjoyed soothing hand massages—a lovely way to unwind and have a quiet chat.

The energy picked up in the afternoon as we turned into MasterChefs to make Eton Mess! Our residents got stuck into whipping the cream and choosing their favourite fruits and sauces to create their perfect desserts. It was every bit as delicious as it sounds!

We also had a very special reason to cheer as we celebrated a resident’s 80th birthday with our staff. He had a wonderful time celebrating with his family this past Sunday, and we were delighted to keep the party going here at the home.

Wonderful Wednesday 🤔

Yesterday afternoon, we were treated to a fantastic quiz planned and led by Michael, who is currently with us on work experience.

The residents had a brilliant time learning new fun facts and testing their knowledge. We are so proud of Michael—he did an amazing job leading the session, and it’s been a joy to watch his confidence grow during his time with us.

Well done, Michael, and thank you to everyone who made these days so bright!

We had a truly wonderful day out and about yesterday! 🚐💨

Our morning began with a lovely scenic drive up to Keighley Tarn. Even with a bit of Yorkshire fog rolling in, it didn’t dampen our spirits. The residents had a brilliant time spotting all the different birds on the water and enjoying the fresh air. 🦆🌫️

The afternoon was just as lively, as we took some of our gentlemen over to The Bull at Broughton. Whether it was a cold pint of shandy or a hot coffee, the drinks and crisps went down a treat! 🍻☕️

The laughter honestly didn’t stop all afternoon. It was fantastic to hear the "chin wag" in full flow, with plenty of stories shared about sports and the various places everyone grew up. ⚽️🗺️

It’s days like these that remind us how important a good natter and a change of scenery can be. Roll on the next trip!

✨ A Weekend Full of Smiles at Craven Nursing Home ✨

We have had such a wonderful weekend here at Craven Nursing Home, filled with music, dance, and very special celebrations.

The highlights began with a fantastic visit from the talented girls at Sheldon’s School Of Performing Arts . Our residents thoroughly enjoyed watching their performance, and it was a real treat to see so much energy and talent brought into our home.

The celebrations continued as we marked two very special birthdays. We were delighted to host an early 80th birthday party for one of our residents, ensuring that his entire family could be there to share in the milestone and make the day truly memorable. It was a joy to see everyone gathered together and enjoying the festivities.

Thank you to everyone who made this weekend so bright for our residents!

🚌 What a Week at Craven Nursing Home! 🇺🇸

The last week has simply flown by here at Craven Nursing Home, and we’ve been making the most of every minute!

Our minibus trip took us on a fantastic adventure to the "USA"—well, the next best thing! We visited Billy Bob’s Parlour, where everyone loved sampling some authentic American cuisine. The American pancakes were a firm favourite and definitely hit the sweet spot! 🥞

But the fun didn't stop there. After our "trip abroad," we headed over to Boundary Mill. We all thoroughly enjoyed a leisurely peruse around the various departments, picking up a few bits and pieces along the way. To top off a brilliant afternoon, we headed up to the cafe for a lovely cuppa and a delicious piece of cake. ☕🍰
