“Me and my partner attended Luna Antenatal classes in November-December as we were due on the 7th of January. We both learnt so much during the classes. We were able to meet other parents to be, which was lovely, and Mandy always made sure we did group activities with the mums and dads separately which I really enjoyed as it gave us chance to have some women talk!

We learnt so much about the stages of labour and the different things to expect. Her classes helped us understand what we would want or not want during labour, for example pain relief options and the different positions to labour in and how your partner can be involved with this! The comb being one of the best recommendations, it was simple but so effective with the contractions during my labour and I can’t thank Mandy enough for this!

Mandy’s classes made such an impact to my birth and gave me an understanding of what my body was going through physically and emotionally and how just having a positive mindset can make such a difference. I decided I really wanted a water birth and on the 8th of January at 6.51am I gave birth to our beautiful little boy in the pool at Lincoln hospital. A pool birth was even better than I imagined it would be, offering much needed relief and I couldn’t imagined doing it any other way.

We both thank you for all your help and support towards our birth and would recommend these antenatal classes to anyone with a baby on the way!”

‼️NEW NHS Stats 24/25
Spontaneous labour has stayed at 42%, induction has dropped to 30% but elective caesareans are up.

A caesarean section is now the most common mode of delivery in the UK. 45% of the UK last year had a caesarean section.

I’ve said it for the last 2 years, but it’s quite unbelievable that going into spontaneous labour and having an unassisted vaginal delivery is the least likely thing to happen to someone in the UK now, and more and more we’re hearing that the desired outcomes aren’t being achieved despite this.

The last two years of stats are pinned to my feed if you want to see how the stats have changed. 2 years ago the balance was tipped when unassisted vaginal deliveries were 49% and this year now 44%!
