💧 Let’s talk lymph!

Your lymphatic system is like the body’s natural drainage and detox network - it keeps fluids moving, clears waste, and supports your immune system.

But sometimes it needs a little help to keep things flowing.

That’s where the Bowen Technique can play a role:
- Gentle moves encourage lymphatic drainage
- Supports circulation and tissue hydration
- Helps reduce swelling and fluid retention
- Boosts your body’s natural detox processes
- Promotes relaxation, which aids immune function

Think of it as giving your lymphatic system a friendly nudge in the right direction. 🌿

Because when your lymph flows, you glow. ✨

Ever wondered why Bowen therapy sessions include those seemingly brief breaks between gentle moves? 🤔 Let's dive into the magic of these breaks and their impact on your body's neurological pathways! 🌟

🔁 The Restart Button: Bowen therapy uses these short pauses to allow your body to process the information received. It's like hitting the restart button on your computer – giving your body a chance to recalibrate and respond more effectively.

🌟 Stimulation of Neurological Pathways: During these breaks, your brain and nervous system get a chance to communicate, helping to release tension and blocked energy. This stimulation helps your body recognize areas that need healing, and it can initiate positive changes.

💪 Opportunity for Change: These pauses provide your body with the opportunity to change and heal itself. By engaging your body's innate intelligence, Bowen therapy encourages the release of pain, improved mobility, and overall well-being.

So, the next time you're in a Bowen session, embrace those breaks as moments of transformation! Your body's ability to heal and adapt is truly remarkable. 🙌💫

🌟 Have you been feeling a little off lately? Has your inner unicorn lost it's sparkle? Sometimes, our bodies go through various imbalances that can leave us feeling out of sync.

Bowen Therapy is a gentle, hands-on technique that aims to address the imbalances within your body. By utilizing precise and holistic moves, it seeks to promote self-healing, pain relief, and overall well-being.

✨ How might Bowen Therapy help?

1️⃣ Release tension: It gently stimulates your muscles, fascia, and nervous system, helping release built-up tension and tightness that may be causing discomfort.

2️⃣ Restore balance: By targeting specific areas, Bowen Therapy aims to bring your body back into a state of equilibrium, allowing energy to flow freely and optimizing your overall function.

3️⃣ Activate self-healing: Through its subtle therapeutic touches, Bowen Therapy helps kickstart your body's natural healing mechanisms, helping you regain your vitality and feel like yourself again.

So, if you're feeling a little "off" and seeking natural ways to regain your balance and well-being, why not give Bowen Therapy a try? It could be the missing puzzle piece for your full-body rejuvenation! 🌻

Remember, self-care is essential. You deserve to feel like the best version of yourself! 🦄

💥HOW WELL DO YOU BREATHE?💥

“The motion of lymphatic fluid within the large lymph vessels is not constant. However it is clearly dependent upon respiration”
Dr.Foldi “Textbook of Lymphology for Physicians and Lymphoedema Therapists”

🧠The return of lymph caused by inhalation and exhalation, at the same time, creates a suction effect that drains lymph from the legs.

“Deep diaphragmatic breathing stimulates the cleansing of the lymph system by creating a vacuum effect which pulls the lymph through the bloodstream”
- Dr Jack W. Shields

🔍 Exhalation is more important than inhalation 🔥
All respiration starts with a careful and complete exhalation.

So.....Breath to live, and to stay healthy!

That’s why I always treat the diaphragm and check rib cage function! 👊💥

And that’s what we do on LYMPHATICS UNLOCKED❤️
Last 2 live two-day workshops this year:
Witney/Oxford 4&5 November
Bury St Edmunds 25 & 26 November
ONLINE - 1st December

Your last chance to get 2 full live days of lymphatics!
All change from next year!

🚩How much attention are you paying to the way you breathe?

Even through we might think so - breathing is not a passive process.

It is guided by us and the way we respond to our environment.

In other words - we should be in control of it and make it work for us and to our advantage.

🔎The action of the diaphragm on exhalation helps to create suction and pressure simultaneously to help with the movement of lymph as it flows against gravity through the thoracic duct.

⚠️Inefficient pressure will affect lymph flow through out the body and ultimately our immune response.

🔎Exhalation will also cause a lowering of our heart rate - a process called Respiratory Sinus Arrhythmia (RSA)
This is when the vagus nerve will kick in and all the health benefits that goes along with an increase in vagal tone.

Shallow breathing will therefore affect both the lymph and vagus and ultimately our health!

Start paying attention to your breathing ❤️

Muscles don't have a mind of their own. The tension they hold is controlled by the brain. They can't just decide "You know what, I'm going to be very tight today and give you your neck pain".
What makes it difficult is that there are a thousand reasons why the brain would make certain muscles tighter than others.
That's why you have to acknowledge and work on other areas apart from where pain is felt in order to give the nervous system more reference points to work with.
The cause of pain is often not where pain is felt.
