Something a bit different today - visiting Lincoln Private Hospital to observe the podiatric surgery team. So far.. 3 bunions and a hammer toe fixed, and a Morton's neuroma removed! (not by me obviously 🤣) Thanks to surgeon Mr Julian Pavier and the team for having me along. 🦶🦶🦶👏👏👏

Fantastic day's training down at Gatwick Airport with on their new KinetiX range of orthotics ! We whizzed through our biomechanics theory and anatomy masterclass with Simon Dickinson, Consultant Orthotist at TalarMade. Our first few pairs have been prescribed with great success and we're looking forward to being able to help more people with their foot pain with this amazing range. And the 🍒 on top? Fully recyclable materials.♻️🦶🥰

Have a qualification in beauty, nails or skin care? Ready for a new challenge? Train with us as a Foot Health Practitioner and open the door to a brand-new healthcare role, great pay and never a dull day.

You will spend one day a week in your first 6 months doing home-based online training in your own time to achieve a recognised qualification in footcare. On the other 2 days per week, you will initially shadow a podiatrist to learn practical aspects of the role. These include nail cutting, scalpel skills, neurovascular assessment, instrument care and cleaning. You will progress to work with supervision and then to work independently within your scope of practice, including assisting with nail surgery.

We care about our patients, going the extra mile. Our clinic is bright and airy, and car parking is affordable and nearby. We have access to the latest equipment. Training and support is given. We offer a full range of private foot health services, including SWIFT verruca treatment. There is ample scope to develop in line with your interests, including medical pedicure and nail reconstruction.

Are you:
- HCPC registered, experienced or recently graduated with a degree or above in Podiatry

We've been asked about finding the correct size shoe recently. There are no standard sizes in the UK as evidenced by these pictures of my recent purchase in my usual size! Rule of thumb applies - the end of the shoe should be approximately a thumb's width longer than your longest toe. Try before you buy (or order 2 pairs and return one, as I did) qnd don't be afraid to go up or down a size.

We will be joining The Big Plastic Count this Springtime to try and help the national effort to measure our plastic waste. Single use disposable plastics are a bugbear for us every day as our industry uses so many of these; often as an essential requirement of our UK healthcare legislation and standards. Obviously our patients' health and safety is our first responsibility, but we continue to look for creative ways we can to reduce our use of disposable items in a safe manner.

The UK’s biggest investigation into household plastic waste. Together let's push the government to tackle the plastic crisis.
