Autumn

It has begun to feel autumnal for a while, not least because of the dryness, the colouring and curling of the leaves, dropping and drying of fruit.

So in seeing this today, I think it is very fitting to post here.

Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine works with the seasons and five elements to bring out the best in you and enable you to live your best quality life in tune with the seasons. As we are part of nature and change with the seasons as do other animals, insects and plants around us.

So it is a great time to get a seasonal treatment to attune yourself with the qualities of the season, enable you to breathe in deep fresh air, new ideas and inspiration and release and let go of the old, that no longer serves you or is holding you back.

Boost your immunity and increase your resistance and resilience to embrace the oncoming winter in the best way.

Be thankful for the summer and long sunny days we’ve had, as we move forward in tune with the seasons with gratitude.

So contact us to book your seasonal maintenance treatment today.

And so begins the season of letting go.

Consume and stockpile all of summer’s bounty as she waves farewell for another year. Thank her for generous warmth and abundance.

New month. New chapter. Let go.

And let’s go…

Donna

I am so excited to now be practicing and offering Shakuju Therapy (SJT) here at Sleaford Natural Health Centre.
My patients are loving it and report instant relaxation and levels of pain relief and well being.
So what is it?

Shakuju Therapy (SJT) is a unique form of acupuncture developed in Japan that aims for deep healing by addressing the body's core imbalances.

This method is designed to be gentle and effective, making it accessible to a wide range of patients.

SJT offers:
• Painless treatment
Shakuju Therapy offers a painless acupuncture experience, making it suitable for sensitive individuals, including the elderly and children.
• Immediate benefits
Patients often experience significant improvements after their first session, including reduced pain and enhanced overall well-being.
• Non-invasive technique
Instead of inserting needles, a specially-designed silver needle lightly touches the skin, allowing for a more pleasant experience while still providing systemic effects.
• Focus on core health
The therapy targets "Fundamental Cold," a concept suggesting that many health issues arise from a lack of warmth in the body, aiming to restore proper function and vitality.

Providing a very gentle treatment. It is ideal for a wide range of patients, such as elderly, very young, and those in a sick and weakened condition.
Because it treats the body on a more fundamental level, it corrects deep imbalances. It can treat issues that have not previously responded to acupuncture therapy.
Patients commonly notice marked improvement after their first treatment, including reduced pain, improved organ function, balanced nervous system, increased vitality, and overall well-being.

Shakuju Therapy works to balance the entire body. Patients notice both their tension release and their pain disappear during a treatment.

This relaxation – of both body and mind – is invaluable. This state of deep relaxation is where healing really occurs.

So, if you would like to see how SJT can help you, please contact Sleaford Natural Health Centre

This is Mental Health Awareness Week.

With up to 25 years experience , our Traditional East Asian Medicine and acupuncture practitioners have lots to offer.
Whether things seem overwhelming, are beginning to build up or you have a sense of not being in control, are anxious, depressed or stressed, please
check out our website lincolnshirenaturalhealth.co.uk or contact us on 01529300988 or email jo@sleafordnaturalhealth.co.uk to book a consultation.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and we want to talk about how much BAcC practitioners can help those in our communities struggling with mental health issues.

Traditional acupuncture and Chinese Medicine is a holistic discipline, and treats the whole person rather than the ‘disease’. The aetiology for depression, anxiety, and stress can be complex and varied from person to person.

In this fascinating members-only article from the recent edition of Acu Magazine, Peter Mole, Dean Emeritus of the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, explains his integrated approach to treating anxiety combining the wisdom of Five Element theory and TCM protocols.

Sleaford Natural Health Centre began in 2002 providing traditional acupuncture to Sleaford and the wider community. The doors to our Clinic at 22 Westgate Sleaford NG34 7PN opened in October 2023.
Josephine and Steve Clegg are proud to say that we have provided over 22 years of continuous complementary healthcare to our community and are looking forward to many more years of service, meeting and looking after our wonderful patients and clients.
We offer a diverse range of complimentary health care using different styles of acupuncture tailored to our patients’ needs and preferences. We also provide other skills and techniques alongside, or instead of, acupuncture to suit our individual patients. These include KORE therapy and Osteotherapy techniques, Cupping, Moxabustion, Tui Na and Qi Gong and Taping therapy.
We stay with you throughout the treatments adapting it as changes appear to ensure your optimum comfort and response to treatment.
For those with a fear of needles, fear not, as we are trained and experienced to provide acupuncture without inserting needles. Josephine practices Toyohari and other Japanese styles of acupuncture and we both practice Korean Hand Therapy and Auricular therapy where magnets and pellets can be used.
We have helped many people with assisting fertility, menstruation, menopausal issues, pain and movement, arthritis, migraines and headaches, back, neck, shoulders and mobility, chronic and acute conditions to name a few. Also with anxiety, stress and emotional and mental problems that can affect us all at times for various reasons. Patients find acupuncture particularly helpful in these instances and often that is the reason for their visits.
If you would like more information on how we can help you, please contact us via our page or on 01529 300988 or email info@sleafordnaturalhealth.co.uk

Have you ever considered cupping therapy?
Cupping is a form of complementary medicine where heated cups are placed on the skin to create a suction, and the treatment is used for a wide range of medical conditions including pain in the neck, shoulder, and back.
Cupping is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and removes stagnation and stimulates the flow of Qi (chi). Qi is the free flow of vital energy circulating through the body, If Qi is disrupted or disturbed, it can create stagnation (blockages) or imbalances in the body. From a physiological perspective, it also increases blood flow, loosens the fascia or connective tissue, and can stimulate healing. It works in a similar way to deep tissue massage can be used to break up scar tissue and reduce pain.
According to The Daily Mail (14th April 2023), “Premier League stars Jack Grealish and Alejandro Garnacho have extolled the virtues of the therapy … and other top athletes who favour the therapy include Karim Benzema, Conor McGregor, Michael Phelps, and Granit Xhaka”.

The importance of doing nothing…

Research shows being constantly busy has major side effects — It permanently reduces your ability to think:

To protect our brains, according to science, it's necessary to balance intense focus with idleness.

However, in our fast-paced world, where every spare moment is filled with checking our phones, this reset is often neglected. This constant stimulation trains our brains to crave busyness, making it harder to disconnect.

Neuroscientist Daniel Levitin highlights these concerns in his book, The Organized Mind.

He pointed out that information overload keeps us trapped in a cycle of noise, sapping both our willpower and creativity. Levitin explains that, to prevent overload, we need to hit the reset button, which means carving space in your day for lying around, meditating, or staring off into nothing.
