Why have a hot stone massage?

The hot stones are a favourite of clients I treat and my favourite massage to give. My stones are basalt. The heat they release gets deep into the skin and the muscles, providing relaxation and relief from tension.

It's a wonderfully warming treatment. The muscles are relaxed and rejuvenated in a sensation totally unique to hot stone massage. With the hot stones, one of the major benefits is that the heat from the stones penetrates your body, bringing many of the benefits of massage at a deeper level. It allows intense muscle relaxation which enables me to work very deeply, without the same pressure needed to apply in a deep tissue massage
