🥐 National Croissant Day 🥐

To mark , Hannah and Katie from our Food & Beverage Team treated residents and team to a delicious basket of freshly baked croissants and pastries during our mid-morning service. Whether relaxing peacefully in their studios or out and about in the home, everyone was delighted by the extra indulgence.

Our mid-morning service ensures residents are always offered a choice of hot and cold drinks, fresh fruit, and sweet or savoury snacks. Just as importantly, it’s a lovely opportunity for the team to stop for a quick chat, catch up, and share the latest news with our residents – moments that make all the difference. 💛

At Signature at Farnham Common we’re passionate about offering a wide range of activities that truly engage our residents and promote wellbeing every day 💙

We’re delighted to have recently collaborated with the fantastic team at Horizon Rehabilitation to introduce classes for our dementia community.

Love to Move is an age and dementia-friendly cognitive enhancement programme with the power to transform the lives of people living with dementia. Specially designed to help older people move more confidently and function better, the programme carefully blends:

🧠 Cognitive stimulation
🤸 Foundation movement skills
🤝 Social interaction

And just as importantly, it’s FUN! 😄

Alongside improving coordination and cognitive function, our residents absolutely love taking part and sharing plenty of smiles and laughter with the wonderful Lucinda Vaughan from Horizon Rehabilitation each week.

Moving into care doesn’t mean leaving friendships or much-loved groups behind 💛

Signature at Farnham Common were delighted to welcome a resident’s friends from the South Bucks u3a for a wonderful afternoon together. Our chef pulled out all the stops with a delicious afternoon cream tea, complete with homemade scones! Our fantastic team were on hand to make everyone welcome, serve and ensure the tea flowed smoothly throughout the afternoon. Our resident thoroughly enjoyed hosting the group and catching up with familiar faces.

We were also pleased to host another resident’s regular bridge afternoon, welcoming old friends to The Caldicott pub for a relaxed and sociable get-together.

Maintaining friendships, hobbies and social connections is such an important part of life here, and we love supporting our residents to continue enjoying the things that matter most to them.

Today we tipped our hats to history, celebrating the many roles hats have played over the years — from protection and practicality to ceremony, style, and self-expression.

Of course, we also took it as the perfect excuse for a little fun and frolics! After all, life is always better when you can dress up and get into character or simply have a giggle with friends.

🎉 What a fantastic afternoon at Signature at Farnham Common as we welcomed the wonderful Johnny Ball 🎉

Johnny had everyone thoroughly entertained with his hilarious rhyming stories from Albert ‘Arold and Others — the book that sparked his lifelong love of comedy. He also shared fascinating extracts from his autobiography, including stories of his connections with a small Liverpudlian band called The Beatles 👀🎶. Tales of his time as a Redcoat at Butlins, to stand-up comedy, and of course his famous career bringing maths and science to life, Johnny’s energy, warmth and humour filled the room. Our residents enjoyed every minute of this lively, engaging and truly memorable afternoon.
