President Sue, together with her husband Martin and daughter Kate, were joined at the presentation by fellow Canvey Island Rotarians Fay & Robert Sayer, John Stone and Rod Bishop. To presented a cheque for £500 to the Phoenix Club. Phoenix Club is President Sue's chosen charity of her year in office, and the donation will go towards their summer outing .

This successful, popular and well supported Phoenix Club of Canvey Island for Disabled and Special Needs Adults, has been run by Volunteers for many years, having 66 Members to date. As well as weekly meetings with entertainment, they have outings, holidays
and trips to shows etc. organised by the team of Volunteers.

The Quiz Night raising funds for 'Hug in a Shrug' will take place on Friday 7th February. It will be a really fun night! It's family friendly and a warm welcome is guaranteed 💕

If you haven't been to one of Angie Walfordand Gary's quiz nights yet, this is your chance and I'm sure you will return! They usually have two each month raising money for a variety of local causes. This time, they've chosen to support our amazing volunteer knitting and crochet groups who make hundreds of wonderful items for our community including the legendary blanket 'hugs' that bring comfort to so many!

Please do come along and join us for a night out!

* It's a 7.30pm for 8pm start
* £5 per person entry is paid on the door (cash only)
* Children are very welcome
* There will be a raffle and chocolate tombola
* Teas and coffees are available for a donation
* You can bring your own drinks and snacks
