Getting kids involved in chores is one of the best ways to build confidence, independence, and important life skills from an early age 💯

Simple daily tasks like tidying toys, helping set the table, sorting laundry, or putting books away can teach children responsibility, routine, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. It also helps improve fine motor skills, communication, and focus, all through everyday play and learning.

Choosing chores over extra screen time can support healthier habits, encourage movement, boost creativity, and give children real-world skills they’ll use for life đŸ’ȘđŸ»

Remember: chores don’t have to be perfect. It’s about learning, helping, and feeling proud of what they can do.

“It takes a village to raise a child” isn’t just about having people around you.

It’s about being seen when you’re overwhelmed.

It’s about having somewhere to go when things feel heavy.

It’s about support that shows up without you having to beg for it.

It’s about people who remind you who you are when you forget.

A real village isn’t just proximity, it’s presence, care, and consistency.

And the truth is
a lot of of mamas are out here trying to build that village from scratch. But at Cafe Mama, all you have to do is join ✹

✹ The Story Behind CafĂ© Mama✹

CafĂ© Mama was born from a very personal journey. AmĂšlie, our founder, experienced a challenging start to breastfeeding with her first daughter, Ayat. Feeling lost and overwhelmed, she sought support at a local children’s centre in Slough. There, a kind maternity support worker guided her, giving her the confidence and knowledge she needed and a sense of community.

Week by week, AmÚlie learned, grew, and formed lasting friendships with other mums. Inspired by the support she received, the maternity worker encouraged Amélie and her friends to train as breastfeeding peer supporters, empowering them to help other mums navigate their own journeys.

Even while life got busy with work and the arrival of her second and third children, Amélie kept the idea of Café Mama close to her heart. With more experience, time, and a passion for supporting mums, she finally brought the vision to life in 2019.

What started as a breastfeeding support group has blossomed into so much more: a safe, welcoming space for mums and babies to connect, share, and receive support in all aspects of motherhoodđŸ«‚đŸ’•

CafĂ© Mama is here because every mum deserves encouragement, understanding, and community—just like AmĂ©lie once did đŸ’ȘđŸ»đŸ‘

✹They say it takes a village to raise a child
but it also takes one to hold the mother✹

Because behind every little milestone, every scraped knee, and every bedtime story, there’s a mama who needs care, encouragement, and someone to lean on đŸ«¶

Supporting a mother isn’t optional, it’s part of the village too. When we lift up moms, we lift up the whole family đŸ’ȘđŸ»

Motherhood isn’t just soft moments and picture perfect memories
it’s layered, raw, and sometimes contradictory.

You can feel overwhelming love and quiet resentment in the same breath.
You can be deeply grateful
 and completely exhausted.
You can give everything to your child and still wonder where you went.

There’s invisible work no one applauds.
There are identity shifts no one prepares you for.
There are days you don’t recognise yourself and nights you miss who you used to be.

And still
 you show up.
Again and again.

If you’ve ever felt this way, you’re not alone.
You’re human. And you’re doing better than you think đŸ€
