We are recruiting for a part time youth worker. The role will be working online in our gaming socials , and in person at our sessions in Sandwell and Halesowen, as part of a team.

Experience in youth work is essential and familiarity with computers and consoles as much of our work is digital.

We are looking for someone who is confident working with children and young people of all ages. We work primarily with children who have SEND or are neurodivergent. We run holiday camps, home Ed sessions, coding sessions and gaming socials both on and we run in person LAN events.

An enhanced DBS is required (which we arrange and pay for )

This is a really fun and rewarding role. Hours can vary but are typically 12-15 hours per week on a zero hours contract.

We operate Tuesdays Wednesdays Fridays and some Saturdays in person, and online in the evenings. The shifts for this role are negotiable.

£12.50 per hour gross + holiday pay with increase in April.

Chronic pain and illness peer support group, at Thimblemill library.

This group is more than peer-support, its given a group of people a space to speak freely without judgement, laughs, friendship and a sense of belonging.

Our sessions are relaxed, meaning it could be some weeks we dont talk about illnesses at all, just good conversation over a hot drink and maybe a biscuit.

Today La Luz, along with a small number of other organisations, were specially invited to Sandwell Council to discuss, collaborate and learn about their Su***de Prevention Strategy.

The statistics are hard to hear, but are a true reality as to what is happening.

La Luz was a micro organisation compared to the others in the room today, but small voices make loud noises. We spoke about our views and heard others. We will continue to work closely with other organisations, so that Sandwell reach their 'zero suicides' target.

We have Dance, Lego, Crafts, Board Games, Comfy corner, Books, Soft play, Gaming, Fun and Laughter!!

What better way to spend a cold saturday, then with entertaining the kids in the warm at the hub and making friends with local adults from the community.

Today we had Blissful Begininnings at our parent group at The Salvation Army Oldbury. We talked all things Baby massage and bonding with baby during those first few months.
