Staff from Roberts & Brain Funeral Directors will be attending, please come and join us.

On Saturday 13th September, between 2 and 4pm, there's a chance to explore the questions you've always wanted to ask about death, dying and grief. Churches from the local area alongside local funeral directors and other professionals will be at the church hall at St Mark's to answer questions and provide a listening ear - and there will be plenty of free refreshments to help the conversation!

Whether you're recently bereaved, thinking about your own funeral plans, have questions you've always wondered about or are simply interested in learning more, we'd love to see you. All are welcome!

What is the Unattended/direct Funeral?

The Unattended Funeral takes care of the essential elements of a funeral; the cremation fees, care of your loved one and transportation to the crematorium are covered. An Unattended Funeral is different to a traditional ceremonial funeral. There is no service and mourners do not attend the crematorium.

Our service to you

Your funeral arranger will be available to help, support and guide you through each step of the process. We will complete the arrangements with you either at our funeral home or over the telephone.

We will advise and guide you on the arrangement of the cremation, including liaising with third parties on your behalf.

We will prepare and distribute all the documentation and manage external payments that are necessary for the cremation to legally proceed.

We will remain available for aftercare, advice, guidance and additional services if required.

The cremation

Cremation fees are also included.

The cremation will take place at one of our selected local crematoria (normally Birmingham Crematorium) and will be respectfully supervised by a qualified Crematorium Attendant.

Our professional team will bring your loved one into our care using specialist vehicles and your loved one will be treated with the utmost respect and will rest in our local mortuary facilities/our branch.

We will provide a simple gown to dress your loved one in, and we will also follow any instructions regarding hair and make-up. We will care for any personal effects in accordance with your instructions.

A Park coffin is included with this service.

Your loved one will be transported directly to the crematorium in a specialised funeral vehicle.

We’re proud to share that all of our CMG crematoria now have Letters to Heaven post boxes installed on site.

These special post boxes offer families a heartfelt way to stay connected with loved ones they’ve lost, a space to share memories, write messages, or simply say what’s in your heart.

💌 Every letter is private, never opened or read, and through an eco-friendly process, they are gently transformed into compost.

🌱 This compost is then used in our gardens, ensuring that each message becomes part of the beauty and life that continues to grow there.

A small gesture with lasting meaning. Because love never leaves us, and neither do they.

The closest crematorium would be Birmingham Crematorium but we will happily accept letters at our branch and can deliver them to the crematorium for you.
