This is one for all my Lymphoedema clients, an interesting read 👣

Denise was also asked if there was a particular diet that helped with weight management in lymphoedema. Her thoughts were, that like all things lymphoedema, there is not a one size fits all answer. She emphasised the importance of getting to or maintaining a healthy weight in terms of managing swelling and also noted that many people with lymphoedema do genuinely seem to do everything right but not be able to use weight. Only watching the scales often does not allow for the fact that fluid weighs. So find a healthy eating plan that you are able to stick with, that fits in with your lifestyle and get some support on your journey. Many GPs will be able to refer you free to slimming world or a similar local scheme free of charge. She also mentioned that a few of her patients had been successful in losing weight using GLP1 injections but that they had all also significantly modified their diets and increased movement so might be worth considering but not an easy fix.
