❄️ I wonder, did you manage to take time to notice the beauty in the snow we woke up to this morning? With the little ones back at school today, I took a solitary walk around the woods. I didn’t feel the need to play with the snow; just taking time to quietly appreciate the woods in its winter cloak was enough for me. ❄️

💚🍂New Year’s Day outside
a robin reminds me to
give room to my grief

Whilst a chaffinch’s
warm pink plumage offers hope
of springtime to come🍂💚

Here’s a little poem I wrote after looking out of the kitchen window, whilst washing up on New Year’s Day. Nature reminded me that it’s okay to begin a new year by giving space to all the emotions you may be feeling at this time.

🍂What a wonderful way to see out 2025 together in the woods. We celebrated a birthday, the winter solstice and being in each other’s company. Drank hot chocolate, shared cake and gingerbread men. Sang with our rythmn sticks and made winter garlands.

🍂 Our little ones enjoyed singing today. It seemed to soothe them ready for threading oak leaves to make a Christmas decoration. It was particularly lovely to see one of our little ones enjoy stepping in the woods and another concentrating on stamping stars out of laurel leaves. It was a joy to spend time together in the woods.

🍂It felt so good to be back in the woods yesterday for Forest Froggies. As it’s getting colder we thought of our feathered friends and made some bird feeders. Such a sensory experience. The sound of the sunflower hearts being scattered onto the tray made a lovely sound, which inspired a little one to imagine we were making a magic spell, then he chose a spell to say.☺️✨Some of us enjoyed the feel of the lard as we smooched it onto the cones, others not so much, but that’s okay, and it didn’t stop them having a go with gloves on. Thank you for joining us! 💚🌿🐸

🍂 On a grey day, the woods welcomed us with it’s colourful array of cosy brown and yellow leaves. We found our autumn wooden discs, made autumn shakers, sang together and listened to a wonderful rendition of ‘Room on the Broom’ by Rachel and her little one. Thank you for joining us! 💚🌿🐸
