A Heartwarming Remembrance Day Story 🎖️

Resident Stanley proudly took part in the Shirley Remembrance Day Parade last week. He was deeply honoured to be invited and wore his medals with immense pride throughout the ceremony.

However, on his way back to Blossomfield Grange, disaster struck. After going over a bump in the road, one of Stanley’s cherished medals slipped from his blazer and fell straight down a drain. Poor Stanley was devastated.

But thanks to the wonderful teamwork between Blossomfield Grange and the Shirley British Legion, a full search was launched — and the missing medal was found! 🙌

We’re delighted to share that Stanley has now been reunited with his medal, and his smile says it all. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone involved for their kindness, determination, and community spirit.

✨ What a fabulous Friday! ✨
We’ve had an amazing day raising much-needed funds for Children in Need and enjoying plenty of fun along the way!

🍰 We kicked things off with a delicious fundraising cake sale in the bistro.
🎒 Then it was off to Solihull College with the wonderful Mad Hatters nursery children, where we had a fantastic time meeting Pudsey!
💃 And to top it all off, we finished the day with an incredible performance by the super-talented Maggie O’Hara — complete with some very special team member backing dancers!

So much Friday fun… and now we’re all ready for the weekend! 🎉

Today on Armistice Day, we welcomed members of the Shirley Royal British Legion for a special Remembrance Lunch with some of our veteran residents ❤️

It was a meaningful occasion to share stories, honour those who served, and reflect on the sacrifices made for our freedom🌹

Jane has not been with us long, but she has really hit the ground running, is excelling in her role as well as being extremely supportive and compassionate to colleagues, family members and residents 💜

Thank you to everyone who joined us today for our monthly Memory Café! ☕💬

This month’s theme was all about the 1940s, remembering the Forces and those wartime days — which sparked some truly wonderful conversations and memories shared among our guests 🇬🇧✨

Our Memory Cafés take place on the first Monday of each month, and everyone is welcome.

🚐 This weeks minibus trips were all themed specially for Halloween 🎃

Trips out to Woods Farm to see the pumpkins and their Halloween display as well as a special Spooky Guided Tour around Warwickshire’s haunted hot spots! 👻

🎃👻What a fun-packed week it’s been! We’ve enjoyed Halloween arts & crafts with The Mad Hatters Nursery children, got creative decorating pumpkins, and even paid a visit to some local pumpkin patch farms. 🎃🎨🕸️

We wrapped it all up with a fabulous Halloween party filled with laughter, great company, and fantastic music from Barry Jukes! 🎶🕷️🧙‍♀️

A special thank you to Lynn, one of our amazing family members, for creating the stunning balloon décor – it really set the scene perfectly! 🎈🧡

🌺 Please take a moment to visit our beautiful Poppy Stand, located in the bistro at Blossomfield Grange.

All funds raised will go directly to The Royal British Legion, supporting our Armed Forces Community. 🇬🇧

A special thank you to Paul, one of our wonderful Senior Care Assistants, for setting up the stand and helping to maximise donations for a charity so close to his heart. ❤️

Residents have been busy teaching the children from Mad Hatters Day Nursery their skills recently with painting and decorating bird boxes. To find out more click the link below...

With the help of the home’s maintenance manager, they then installed them in the garden and outdoor spaces.

🌟Earlier this week, Blossomfield Grange came alive with colour and joy as we celebrated Diwali — the festival of lights. It was a truly wonderful occasion, with staff dressed in beautiful traditional attire and team members generously bringing in delicious homemade dishes for everyone to enjoy ✨💖🎂🪔

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed and joined us on the day. Your enthusiasm, generosity, and festive spirit made this celebration so special. ✨

💃 What an afternoon at Blossomfield Grange! 🎶🎤

A huge thank you to the fabulous Paulo Pinto for bringing the party vibes to our Friday Social today — you had everyone up and dancing! These lovely ladies barely stopped moving all afternoon — something tells us they’ll sleep very well tonight! 😄💤

A big thank you also to everyone who joined us — we absolutely love your company. The more who come along, the better the atmosphere.

🌸🐦 A Little Help for Our Feathered Friends!

Residents at Blossomfield Grange recently teamed up with the lovely children from Mad Hatter’s Nursery as part of Care UK’s Fixer Uppers programme! 🎨💚

Together, they painted and decorated beautiful bird boxes that had been lovingly handcrafted by our residents. Once finished, with a little help from our maintenance manager, everyone headed out to the garden to find the perfect spots to hang them — ready for our local birds to move in and make themselves at home. 🏡✨

It was such a joyful morning filled with creativity, laughter, and teamwork across generations. We can’t wait to see which feathered visitors stop by! 🐧🌼
