The MMRV vaccine protects against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chickenpox) and is an important part of the childhood vaccination schedule.

If your child has missed any vaccines, or if you have recently moved to the UK from another country, it is never too late to catch up. The NHS offers free catch-up vaccinations to help ensure children and adults are protected and up to date. Checking your vaccination record and booking missing doses can help protect both your family and the wider community. 💉🛡️👨‍👩‍👧‍👦✨

Children’s dental health is an important part of overall wellbeing, and simple daily habits can help protect young teeth for life.

Drinks that are high in sugar and acidity can damage tooth enamel and increase the risk of decay. Encouraging water or milk, brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, and regular dental check-ups can all support healthy smiles. Starting good oral health habits early can make a lasting difference. 🦷🪥💙✨

February marks LGBT+ History Month 2026, with a focus on Science and Innovation.

Healthcare innovation isn’t just about technology — it’s also about fairness, representation and equity. We recognise the work of Barbara Burford, whose contributions to NHS equality and diversity guidelines have helped shape a more inclusive NHS.

As a practice, we are proud to stand with our LGBT+ patients, colleagues and community — and we remain committed to reducing health inequalities and ensuring everyone feels safe, respected and heard.

🌙 Ramadan Mubarak 2026 🌙

As the holy month of Ramadan begins, everyone here at GPS Healthcare would like to extend our warmest wishes to our Muslim patients, colleagues, and communities observing this special time.

Ramadan is a period of reflection, prayer, charity, and fasting from dawn to sunset. We recognise that fasting is deeply meaningful for many people, and we are committed to supporting you in looking after your health while you observe.

If you are living with a long-term condition such as diabetes, heart disease, or are pregnant, and plan to fast during Ramadan, please contact your GP, pharmacist, or specialist team. They can offer tailored advice to help you fast safely and manage your health. The NHS is here to provide advice, medication reviews, and support tailored to your needs.

Please remember:
- Stay well hydrated during non-fasting hours.
- Take medications as advised by your healthcare professional.
- Seek medical help if you feel unwell — your health always comes first.

We are proud of the diversity of our staff and patients and remain committed to providing inclusive, respectful care for all throughout Ramadan and beyond.

Oesophageal Cancer Awareness Month is a time to raise awareness of risk factors, symptoms and the importance of looking after your long-term health.

A family history of cancer, smoking, va**ng, poor diet and long-term acid reflux can all increase risk. Making positive lifestyle changes, such as stopping smoking or va**ng, can help reduce the risk of many cancers and improve overall health.

Knowing the signs and understanding risk factors can support earlier diagnosis and better outcomes. 🎗️🩺💙✨
