If we only give kids stories about castles and dragons, we teach them that magic only happens in medieval Europe.

This week, we traveled to Dominica (Waitukubuli). We traded the “Enchanted Forest” for the real, breathing rainforests of the Nature Island.
We read stories rooted in Kalinago history—the indigenous people who have fiercely protected their land for centuries. We learned that in Caribbean folklore, the land isn’t just a setting; it’s a character. It commands respect.
The result?
✨ Curiosity exploded.
✨ Empathy deepened.
✨ The world got a little bit bigger.
Representation isn’t just a buzzword. It’s a necessary adventure.
