LAST SUMMER vs THIS SUMMER
The pregnancy edition 🎢
Growing this little bub has been a wild journey. One of my biggest challenges to date but the most rewarding thing I'll ever do, I'm sure of that. I feel beyond blessed to be in my position, to have had a relatively smooth sailing physical pregnancy but 😮💨 mentally wow, it's a ride.
I had all good intentions to workout consistently throughout my pregnancy but with working 2 jobs & a mini house reno, regular trips to gym slightly took a back seat and I'm ok with that. Exercise now at week 34 consists of daily walks & more holistic practice to prepare my body for it's nearing labour.
Pregnancy has you feeling stronger than ever before, it is incredibly empowering & you spend a lot of time in total disbelief that you're growing a whole human.
It is also mentally dealing with an influx of hormones, dramatic changes in physical appearance, feeling uncomfortable, sleepless nights, constant anxiety, financial worries, loneliness, inability to do small tasks alone. The list goes on & on..
A woman's capability to control these changes in thoughts & adapt the mindset throughout the day - overriding the negatives with positives, is probably the hardest task of them all.
I worked HARD to achieve the results on the left, but I've worked equally as hard to protect the body on the right. Of course, I often mourn the body I spent years working on & have struggled seeing it change. But I love & admire my new body, for it has been growing something truly magical, & those feelings will always come out on top.
If you currently know someone who's pregnant/postpartum, make sure you're checking in with them & showering them with all the love.
Pregnant mommas - be patient & kind to yourself. No one will truly understand your unique experience, but appreciate those who try to 🫶🏼
6 weeks to go 👶🏻 then its onto the postpartum edition 🥴
