This month we had the pleasure of joining the Pop Voices choir at Shirley Methodist Church. The Feel Good Voices are an amazing group of people who come together to make people smile through a shared love of singing and music. We had a fantastic time and the Mayor of Solihull was on hand to lend her support to this amazing group. An ideal group for those we care for or anyone looking to socialise through the joy of music!

📢 Important: UK Government Emergency Alert Test – Sunday 7th September at 3pm 📢

On Sunday 7th September at 3pm, the UK Government will be testing the Emergency Alerts system on mobile phones across the UK.

What to expect:
• The alert will make a loud, siren-like sound and your phone or tablet will vibrate for around 10 seconds.
• The alert will look and sound different from a normal message.
• If you have a vision or hearing impairment, audio and vibration signals will still let you know the test has arrived.

⚠️ Important Safety Note:
While these alerts are designed to keep the public safe in emergencies, they may put people at risk if they have a hidden phone (for example, victims of domestic abuse).

👉 If this applies to you, please be aware you can opt out of the test. Guidance can be found here: gov.uk/alerts/opting-out.

💡 Please also check in with elderly or vulnerable neighbours who may have a mobile phone but are not aware of the test, as it could cause unnecessary worry.

Today we said a fond farewell to our lovely Care Professional, Belinda, as she hung up her PPE for the very last time! 💜

Belinda has been such a valued part of our team – always kind, compassionate, and dedicated to those she supported. We feel incredibly lucky to have had her as part of the Home Instead Solihull family.
