📢 Important: UK Government Emergency Alert Test – Sunday 7th September at 3pm 📢
On Sunday 7th September at 3pm, the UK Government will be testing the Emergency Alerts system on mobile phones across the UK.
What to expect:
• The alert will make a loud, siren-like sound and your phone or tablet will vibrate for around 10 seconds.
• The alert will look and sound different from a normal message.
• If you have a vision or hearing impairment, audio and vibration signals will still let you know the test has arrived.
⚠️ Important Safety Note:
While these alerts are designed to keep the public safe in emergencies, they may put people at risk if they have a hidden phone (for example, victims of domestic abuse).

💡 Please also check in with elderly or vulnerable neighbours who may have a mobile phone but are not aware of the test, as it could cause unnecessary worry.
