Anna’s yoga classes are light hearted and down to earth with an emphasis on having fun and figuring out what feels good for your body. There is no set style and instead she blends mobility training with traditional yoga poses to help you improve how well you move. All classes are open level and every age, gender and body is accepted. There will be options and variations of each pose to suit every

Ever feel like your lower back is constantly tight or achy?

One of the most common (and often overlooked) causes is actually tight quads and hip flexors.

When these muscles become shortened, usually from lots of sitting, they pull the pelvis into an anterior pelvic tilt (tipping forward). This increases the arch in your lower back, putting extra pressure on the lumbar spine; hello tension and discomfort.

The good news? You can start to relieve some of that tightness by giving your quads and hip flexors a little attention.

✨ In this video, I’m demonstrating the couch stretch, a simple but powerful way to open up the front of the hips and thighs, helping to take strain out of the lower back.

Take it slow, breathe deeply, and don’t force it, this one can be intense!

Your lower back will thank you 🙏

Wow, what an amazing turnout we had at our Fuelled & Fabulous workshop last Thursday; 30 incredible women in the room! 💫

We’re honestly so grateful to every single one of you who came along, brought your energy, and were part of such an empowering evening. It means so much to us to be able to create a space where women can learn, ask questions, and feel supported when it comes to their health.

Perimenopause is not a decline, it’s a physiological shift that requires a strategic upgrade.

During perimenopause, your hormones start to fluctuate and decline, in particular estrogen, progesterone and testosterone all change in ways that affect muscle, bone, metabolism and recovery.

As estrogen declines, the body becomes less responsive to protein (known as anabolic resistance), insulin sensitivity can decrease, visceral fat storage can increase and bone loss accelerates. This means the strategies that worked in your 30s may no longer be enough.

What becomes essential:

• Strength training 2–4 times per week to maintain and build muscle and protect bone density
• Progressive overload with compound movements like squats, hinges, pushes and pulls
• Adequate protein (around 2–2.3g per kg of bodyweight) spread across the day
• Impact and power work to support bone health
• Quality sleep, recovery and stress management

Muscle isn’t just aesthetic, it’s metabolic currency. It regulates blood sugar, protects bone, supports longevity and helps maintain independence as we age.

The goal during perimenopause isn’t maintenance. It’s intentional preservation and building.

Lift heavier.
Prioritise protein.
Support recovery.

I’m so excited to officially launch “Fuelled & Fabulous” a workshop focusing on women’s health, in partnership with Alex Ogilby and Achieve Health✨

This is a workshop designed to help you understand how to fuel and train your body for long-term strength, energy and confidence, at every stage of life.

Inside the session we’ll cover:
✨ How nutrition needs change through your reproductive years, perimenopause and postmenopause
✨ Protein, fibre, iron, vitamin D and creatine, what they do and why they are so important
✨ Daily targets and simple ways to hit them
✨ The importance of strength training for bone density, muscle maintenance and healthy ageing
✨ How to support your hormones, energy and recovery through smart nutrition and training

Strong has no age limit 💪✨

Our Over 60s Strength & Fitness crew absolutely smashing it this week at Achieve Functional Fitness! From barbell squats to goblet squats, every single person is working at a level that suits them, because strength training isn’t one-size-fits-all.

This class is massively focused on building strength, mobility, balance, and confidence. As we get older, maintaining muscle mass, improving bone density, and keeping our joints moving well becomes even more important. Strength training helps us stay independent, reduce injury risk, improve posture, and keep doing the things we love for longer.

And here’s the best part. No matter your starting point, age or ability level there is always an option to suit you. Barbell, dumbbell, bodyweight, box assisted, we meet you where you are and build from there in a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment.
