A significant milestone for public safety in the UK!

The UK Home Office has now published the Section 27 guidance for Martyn’s Law - a key step in helping organisations understand their responsibilities under Martyn’s Law, formally the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025.

This guidance will support qualifying premises and events in preparing for enforcement by the Security Industry Authority (SIA), ensuring clearer expectations around safety, preparedness, and protection.

Passengers at Birmingham Airport were evacuated yesterday following reports of smoke in a baggage reclaim area - a reminder of how quickly situations can develop in busy transport hubs.

RPEEPs now in force 🚨

The Fire Safety (Residential Evacuation Plans) (England) Regulations 2025 are now in effect - placing new responsibilities on Responsible Persons in relevant residential buildings to identify residents who may need assistance and ensure appropriate evacuation plans are in place.

A major step towards more inclusive, person-centred fire safety.
