Dr Joshua Levitt talks about how inflammation is the root cause of so many diseases, but it is also part of the healing process. To stop the pain, you need to stop the inflammation that triggers other responses. He recommends curcumin because it blocks the protein that starts the pain chain. This makes the inflammation return to where it should be, sorting out the initial injury. He does talk about the product he makes, but combines it with other ingredients. I found it particularly interesting to hear how NSaids, ie your normal pain relief tablets, not only interfere with pain signals, they also interrupt the healing process.

I am pleased to have an appointment for my C-19 vaccination, but I will make sure I have had my Silver Shield before I go. The gel goes on my hand and nostrils, and I drink a teaspoon of the liquid. After all, I don't want to catch anything whilst I am at the vaccination centre!

New research shows that 40-60% of toilet plume particles can reach to a height of 106.5 cm above the ground enabling the spread of particles on nearby surfaces. During computer simulations, particles could also stay suspended in the air long enough to be breathed in post-flushing.

This increases the potential spread of bacteria and viruses in the surrounding area of the toilet and makes the transmission of germs a real possibility. This has big implications both in the home, where family bathrooms are also used for activities such as teeth brushing, and public lavatories, where multiple users can come into contact with contaminated surfaces.

When your house is full of chocolate and treats after Christmas, it is too easy to reach for the junk when you are a little peckish. Remember, you need your immune system strong, and filling the body with sugar won't help that. Make sure you have a range of coloured veg and fruit, so you can grab something colourful and healthy, even if you are not using supplements. We need to make sure we stay strong and healthy. Put most of the sweets away!

The nights are definitely drawing in, and as the weather changes, we are all more likely to stay indoors. I am going to start adding Vitamin D into my daily regimen. I am not considering that it has any effect on Covid, although there has been discussion about that, but I am aware it is my 'happy pill'.

Enjoyed my little run along the canal and then through the fields this morning, but I know I would not be able to do it without having had my protein shake first. It certainly starts my day off well
