Another fun packed month ahead and September has started by taking us on our inspired virtual Mediterranean cruise. Our 1st stop was Italy!! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ
A huge thank you to our fantastic kitchen staff for cooking up a storm with our delicious Italian menu. We started with arancini balls, followed by a luscious lasagna, and the classic Italian tiramisu to finish ๐Ÿ˜‹โค๏ธ
Full up on italian cuisine our residents were soon ready to set sail and enjoyed testing their knowledge whilst
discovering fun and interesting facts about the history and culture of Italy.

Weโ€™ve had such a wonderful start to the week here at Ardenlea Grove. With a fun packed schedule of music, movement, games, one-to-ones and baking our Residents have celebrated world coconut day, sung in the rain, shot some hoops, showered in bubbles and so much more. Thank you to our wonderful staff, Chloe Everyone4sport and Catherine Musical Moments for helping us to provide such meaningful moments to all our amazing residents.

The rain may have kept us indoors, but it definitely didn't stop the fun!๐ŸŽ‰
Today we held our Sports Day inside and enjoyed sack races, egg-and-spoon challenges, beanbag tosses, balloon tennis, balloon volleyball, aiming games, and so much more.๐Ÿ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿฅš๐ŸŽˆ
Residents had their own competitions, staff had theirs, and families joined in too the room was full of laughter, cheers, and amazing team spirit. ๐Ÿ’“
A huge thank you to everyone who took part we had an absolutely fantastic day together at Ardenlea grove care home.๐ŸŒŸ

From one-one activities to a lively game ๏ฟผof brain games ๐Ÿง ๐ŸŽ‰, our residents had a brilliant morning full of smiles. And of course, we finished the day with our much-loved Friday Treat Trolly ๐Ÿซโ˜•๏ธ- the perfect way to start our weekend!๐Ÿ’œ

Sleep is as important for our health as our diets and exercise, yet we often cut it short.

Follow these 5 tips to get the most out of it:
1. Whilst the length of sleep is important (aim for 7-9 hrs a night) but quality of sleep is important too. Improve sleep quality by removing distractions from your bedroom, avoiding caffeine late in the day.
2. Sleep consistency is important - going to bed and waking up at the same time each day (even on weekends or kidsโ€™ holidays) can improve how restorative your sleep is. Keep lie-ins less than 1 hour.
3. Stop snoozing! Each time you fall back to sleep, you initiate a new sleep cycle which takes 90 mins to complete, so breaking it by another alarm 10 mins later is added stress on your body
4. Keep your bedroom cool - your body needs to drop its temperature to initiate and maintain sleep
5. Screen time before bed has similar effects to drinking coffee on the brain. Avoid screens and blue light in the hour before sleep.
