That pre-workout buzz might be killing the vibe. 📉🚫

Are you using ni****ne pouches to get a boost in the gym? You might be getting a great pump in your biceps, but you’re likely affecting the pump where it actually matters.

Here is the hard truth: Ni****ne is a vasoconstrictor. It tightens your blood vessels and limits blood flow—the exact opposite of what you need for an er****on.

It also spikes your "fight or flight" system, making it much harder for your body to relax and perform.

Let’s stop choking our vascular systems, lads. If you have questions about pelvic health or performance, drop me a message or book in at the Coventry clinic. 📍

Mind your bits! ☘️

Stop power posing at the toilet! 🚽🛑

We need to talk about what your pelvic floor hates... your tough guy routine.

Lads, we’re told standing is the manly thing to do. But here is the physio truth: when you stand, your pelvic floor has to work to stabilise you, which restricts the urethra.

If you deal with:
🔹 Incomplete emptying
🔹 Urinary frequency
🔹 That annoying post-void dribble..Try sitting down. It allows the muscles to relax so you can empty the tank properly.

And don't worry—nobody is watching you! (It’s just like the gym, everyone thinks people are looking, but they aren't).
Drop me a message if you need to get your pelvic health sorted in Coventry.

Lads, we need to talk about jelqing. 🛑
I’ve been seeing more and more men in my Coventry clinic lately dealing with the aftermath of jelqing. If you aren’t familiar, it’s a series of tractions some men do to try and increase size.
The reality? It can cause serious spasming in the tissues, sending your nervous system into a protective "clench" mode. This often leads to:
Chronic pain and anxiety.
Hard Flaccid – where the tissue becomes rubbery, cold, and stays in a flaccid state.
If you’ve tried this and are noticing changes, don’t start doing Kegels. They can often make this particular issue worse. Instead, we focus on down-training—teaching those muscles and the nervous system how to relax again.
It is very treatable, so don’t suffer in silence. Drop me a message or book in at the clinic to get it sorted.

🛑 STOP doing Kegels if you are in pain!
I get asked this all the time: "Should I do Kegels for my pelvic pain?"

If you have a "hypertonic" (tight) pelvic floor, the answer is usually NO.

Why?
Imagine a muscle that is already clenched tight. If you try to clench it more (Kegel), you are just adding tension to the fire.

The Rule of Thumb:
📉 High Pain: Focus on "Down Training." Stretching and relaxation.
📈 Tolerable Pain: Once the pain settles, then we work on strengthening.

A tight muscle is a weak muscle, but you can’t strengthen a muscle that never relaxes.
👋 I’m Philip, a Men’s Health Physio in Coventry. If you are struggling with CPPS, Prostatitis, or Hard Flaccid, drop me a DM.

Physio Prescription: Turn up the volume. 🔊🎸
I was chatting in the clinic about how to help men with CPPS and Prostatitis "down-train" (relax their pelvic floor). My advice? Put on some Pearl Jam.
I know, this is a bit tongue-in-cheek (and maybe a bit off-topic!), but hear me out. Listening to complex music allows you to actively focus on the instruments—the guitars, the bass, the vocals. It’s a form of mindfulness that helps you breathe and release tension.
My Top Tracks for Relaxing:
🎶 Release
🎶 Given to Fly
🎶 Breathe
I’m not telling you who to listen to (everyone has their own taste!), but I want to know...
