I am looking to recruit a Personal Assistant for my mother and father to enable them to continue to live independently. The job is based in the B94 area of Solihull.
My mother suffers from dementia and my father is quite self-sufficient, despite having severe vision and hearing impairment.

Solihull Council is refreshing its strategy for adult day opportunities (formerly called day services) and has launched a survey to find out what people who use services and their carers want over the next five years.

Councillor Tony Dicicco, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Health, explains: “Enabling people to be independent and take part in local activities is a priority for the Council, especially for older people and those living with a disability.

“The refreshed Day Opportunities strategy will build on the work our services did before Covid and what we learned during the pandemic. We want to promote independence and life skills, help people feel connected to their community and develop friendships. Supporting people to become work ready, where appropriate, and enabling carers to continue in their caring role through access to respite and breaks will also be important themes of the strategy.”
