We recently attended at the NEC, where this treatment was carried out by physiotherapist Will, focusing on common tension points around the upper shoulders and neck.
In the video he is working through the upper traps, a muscle that plays a key role in elevating the shoulder blades. This area often becomes sore or tight for people who spend long periods sitting at a desk, especially when the shoulders are slightly shrugged or posture isn’t well supported. He also talks through surrounding muscles like the levator scapulae and scalenes, which can become stiff over time with repetitive positioning and limited movement.
Simple things like improving desk height, moving the shoulders regularly and getting hands on treatment when needed can help reduce tightness and keep everything functioning properly.
