Mid-Autumn Festival is a popular observance in Chinese culture and in many other Asian countries. Also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, the 3,000 year-old festival is a time for friends and family to come together to offer thanks for the harvest and pray for longevity and good fortune. The Festival falls on the 15th day of the 8th month in the Chinese lunar calendar, when it is believed that the moon is at its fullest and brightest, coinciding with the time of harvest in the middle of autumn. People celebrate by lighting lanterns and fireworks, and making and sharing mooncakes - baked round filled pastries topped with a Chinese character.

About Us

Tai Chi for Better Health is a Community Interest Company (CIC) dedicated to training Tai Chi Instructors in Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi. Shibashi is an easy Tai Chi to learn and is a set of 18 movements. The benefits of this form of Tai Chi include better balance, improved mobility, relaxation, relief from stress, anxiety and depression and an overall improvement in health and well being.

To date, we have trained over 200 instructors throughout the UK ranging from clients wishing to set up their own classes to volunteers working within Age UK, Ageing Better, and the National Health Service.

Our instructors Andy, Paul, and Tracey Have a wealth of experience and expertise. They have come together to offer this training as they have seen first hand the positive effects this form of Tai Chi can have on people’s lives.

We train companies, organisations, groups, and individuals. Where possible we aim to offer our training free of charge so that the amazing health benefits of this Tai Chi form can be enjoyed by people in their local communities
