I've been busy cutting out florals this evening for the Month of May....can you even believe we are almost in May already!
🌸 A gentle look at what happens during my 'May collage session' 🌸 This is part of my Creative Therapy course, which lasts for 6 months. (1 per month). Visiting as a mobile facilitator to a persons own home.
This session is about so much more than arts and crafts - it’s a thoughtful, one-to-one experience designed to encourage conversation, confidence, creativity, and connection, all from the comfort of home.
Together, we’ll explore a selection of carefully chosen collage images, colours, and textures, chatting along the way about personal preferences, memories, and interests.
Some of the gentle prompts I might use include:
✨ “Which colours stand out to you today?”
✨ “Do any of these pictures remind you of a favourite place, season, or memory?”
✨ “Which pieces would you like to choose for your collage?”
✨ “Would you like something bright and cheerful, or calm and peaceful?”
✨ “What would you like your picture to say about you?”
These simple choices can support independence, spark conversation, encourage memory recall, and help older adults express themselves in a relaxed and enjoyable way.
Throughout the session, I provide friendly one-to-one support, helping with cutting & arranging where needed, while keeping the experience sociable, engaging, and pressure-free.
The benefits can include:
💛 Gentle cognitive stimulation
💛 Creative self-expression
💛 Confidence through choice-making
💛 Meaningful companionship
💛 An enjoyable activity without needing to leave your home
Every collage becomes unique - a reflection of personality, memories, and creativity - while the session itself offers connection, comfort, and purposeful engagement.
A calm, meaningful activity that brings creativity and conversation directly to someone’s own safe space.
