In Loving Memory of Tracy Shearon

Tracy, of West Avenue in Upton, passed away peacefully at Wakefield Hospice on Friday 16th January, aged 54.

A cherished partner of Fiona. Beloved daughter of Alan and Barbara. Dear sister of Lynn. And sister in law of Brian, Sharon and Mick. Loved by all her nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Tracy was a great friend to many. She will be remembered with love by all who knew her.

Tracy’s funeral service will take place on Friday 20th February at Pontefract Crematorium at 2.20pm.

Donations to Macmillan Cancer Support and Wakefield Hospice are welcome and collection box will be available at the exit of the crematorium chapel after the service.

Following the service, refreshments will be served at the Upton Arms.

In Loving Memory of Martyn Charles Ward

Martyn, of Barnsdale Way in Ackworth, passed away peacefully at Vicarage Court Care Home in Featherstone, on Wednesday 14th January, aged 69.

A devoted husband of Julie, much loved son of Margaret, and dear uncle of Madeline and Mitchell. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Martyn’s funeral service will take place at Pontefract Crematorium on Wednesday 11th February at 11am.

Family flowers only please. Donations to the Prince of Wales Hospice at Pontefract are respectfully requested in lieu of flowers. A collection box will be available at the exit of the crematorium after the funeral service.

In Loving Memory of Jean Mary Vincent.

Jean, resident of China Cottage Care Home, sadly passed away on Wednesday 14th January, aged 83.

Reunited with her late husband Terry. She will be dearly missed by her children; Wendy, Julie and Mark, her grandchildren;
Luke, Tom, Beth and Ashleigh, her great grandchildren; Maya and Indie. As well as all her family and friends.

Jean’s funeral service will take place at North Elmsall Church on Monday 16th February at 10.30am, followed by the committal at Pontefract Crematorium.

Family flowers only please. If you would like to give a donation in lieu of flowers there will be a collection box at the crematorium after the service. All proceeds will be gratefully received by Dementia UK.

Kerry, of Oakwell Road in Kinsley, passed away peacefully at the Prince of Wales Hospice after a short illness, on Sunday 28th December, aged 50.

A cherished daughter and stepdaughter of William and Karen, and the late Carol and the late Barry. Much loved sister of the late Darren. Devoted mum of Billie-Jo, Nirvana, Duane, D'mitri, Cyra, Dakoda, Caylyx and Deniiel. Also, a loving nannan of Calleigh-Gray. Loved and adored by all, she will be dearly missed.

Kerry’s funeral service will take place at Pontefract Crematorium on Tuesday 20th January at 11am.

Ellen Lees Earnshaw (née Beardsell) of Nunns Lane, Featherstone, passed away peacefully at Pinderfields hospital on the 11th of December 2025 aged 95, reunited with her late husband Keith Earnshaw. Beloved mum to Peter, David, Michael and Ashley, cherished grandmother/great grandmother and great friend to many.

Ellen had a great passion for knitting and met many of her friends through family-owned shops in multiple communities called Cosy Knit Wools, teaching others and offering her knitting services. Ellen will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

Family would like to request something pink be worn in honour of Ellen by attendees of the funeral service which will be held at Pontefract crematorium on Thursday the 15th of January at 3pm, family flowers only, all donations in lieu for Prince of Wales hospice can be left in the donations box upon exiting the service. Family and friends will be warmly welcomed back to the Kings Croft Hotel, Pontefract for refreshments.

Sarah, of Ladybalk Lane in Pontefract, passed away peacefully at the Prince of Wales Hospice on Wednesday 17th December, aged 55.

A cherished mum of Keenan and Leah. Adored grandma of Shane and Lottie. Much loved sister and sister in law of Adrian and Linda. Dear auntie of Rebecca and Andrew. And, a beloved friend to many. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Sarah’s funeral service will take place at Pontefract Crematorium on Monday 12th January at 12.20pm. By request of Sarah, attendees as respectfully requested not to wear black, but to wear bright colours if they can.

A much loved brother to Kate, Christie, and the late Michael, Jerry, Tom, John, Susan, and Margaret. A devoted grandfather to his 18 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to his 4 great-grandchildren. Also a dearly loved father-in-law, godfather, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many.
