Our Staff Awards are a chance to recognise the compassion, commitment, humour, patience and positivity shown by our team every single day. From the “Making a Difference Award” to “The Britton Award” in memory of Martin Britton, we are excited to celebrate the people who make Kinwood such a special place to be. ❤️

Most importantly, this week is about the incredible individuals we support — celebrating their strengths, personalities, achievements and opportunities.

We’re proud to share that our first service, formerly known as Haxby House, has now been officially renamed with CQC as The Britton.

This name carries real meaning for us. It’s in honour of our late friend, Martin Britton. Martin worked alongside us in a previous service and was due to join us again here. He was an exceptional support worker dedicated, compassionate, and genuinely committed to the people he supported.

Renaming our service is a small but lasting way for us to recognise the impact he had on those around him and to ensure his legacy continues within the work we do every day.

The Britton will stand not just as a service name, but as a reflection of the standards, values, and care that Martin represented.

Excellent news that Josh has been booked again , we are really proud of him, Josh has also managed to gain a regular spot singing with in a local care home entertaining the residents of that home , keep up the great work Josh and the team 🎤🎵🎶

Bingo starts at 18:00
We have raffles and name the teddy, prizes to be won!

By embedding Brené Brown’s Brave Leadership principles, we’re encouraging honest conversations, psychological safety, and the courage to lead with authenticity 🌟🗣️ Together, we’ve explored open and closed cultures, how they show up in practice, and how every team member plays a role in building environments where people feel heard, valued, and supported 🙌

When our staff feel safe, connected, and confident, wellbeing grows — not only for our teams but for the people we support too 🌈💫 Investing in staff wellbeing isn’t separate from quality care… it is the foundation of it.

And we’re excited to say we’re ready to start next week with our second cohort of team members beginning their induction week with this training 🚀📚 We can’t wait to continue building a culture where everyone can thrive together.
