Tips for Autumn Drinking...

Favour warm or room-temperature drinks rather than iced.
Ginger tea warms the body whilst supporting digestion.
Licorice root tea soothes dryness & harmonises the body.

Avoid overly cold, raw, or heavily sweetened beverages.

Add gentle warming spices like cinnamon, ginger, or a pinch of clove if needed.

Sipping slowly is better than drinking large amounts at once as it helps the body absorb nutrients and moisture.

Miso or bone broth are warming, nourishing and good for digestion and immune support.

It’s such a joy to support children in feeling balanced, confident, and cared for, thank you to all the parents who trust us on this journey and take the time to write us wonderful reviews.
New Extended hours...
We know after-school schedules can be busy, so The Little Acupuncture Room is now open until 8pm on Tuesday evenings. This gives parents more flexibility to bring children in for gentle treatments after school and before bedtime.

We’re always so touched to hear how acupuncture has helped children feel more rested, regulated, and at ease in their bodies. This lovely parent came to us for support with their son’s sleep difficulties, and after just a few sessions, noticed a real difference.

Shout-out to our wonderful team—Rebecca, Mandy, Fabiana, Ania, and Berenice—for creating such a calm, welcoming space where children (and parents) can feel safe, supported, and seen.

Thank you for trusting us with your child’s care. It truly means the world. 💚

Supporting Children with Acupuncture as they Start a New School Year.
The beginning of a new school year can be very exciting for many children, but it can also bring butterflies in the tummy, restless sleep, or worries about new teachers and friends.
Gentle paediatric acupuncture (often using non-needle techniques like tuina massage, acupressure or shonishin) can help calm nerves, settle digestion, improve sleep, and support children’s resilience as they adjust to new routines.
Paediatric treatments are short, soothing, and designed with children in mind helping them feel balanced, confident, and ready to thrive in the classroom.
A natural way to support your child’s wellbeing, inside and out, as they step into a fresh school year.

September brings big shifts—new teachers, classrooms, timetables, and rhythms. And even when change is positive, it can still feel overwhelming.

This is your gentle reminder that calm is contagious.

✨ Create space for slow mornings
✨ Make room for big feelings after school
✨ Let simple routines be your anchor

You and your kids have got this. 💛
And if your child could use some extra support regulating emotions, sleep or energy—we’re here.

We’re now open Tuesdays until 8pm to make it easier to fit in a session after school.
Book in via our website or get in touch if you’re not sure what’s best for your child.

If you’re a SENCO or a parent who thinks your child could be referred through this partnership, please do get in touch—we’d love to hear from you.

At The Little Acupuncture Room, our mission is to make acupuncture truly accessible to every child who could benefit from it 💛

Alongside our low-cost, sliding scale clinic, we also work directly with local schools to offer cost-free acupuncture to children who may not otherwise be able to access support.

If you’re a SENCO or a parent who thinks your child could be referred through this partnership, please do get in touch—we’d love to hear from you.

Play is not only fun, but vital for children’s growth and wellbeing. Through daily play, kids explore the world, build confidence, develop social skills, and find healthy ways to express their emotions. Play also supports resilience and mental health, giving children the space to relax, imagine, and simply be themselves.

Zusanli (St36) "Leg Three Miles" is one of the most powerful acupuncture points on the body. Legend has it that massaging this point gives you the strength to walk another three miles.

Known as the "point of longevity", it is used to boost digestive health, reduce fatigue, regulate the nervous system and strengthen immunity.

Press or massage daily/few times per week at home:
Small circles or steady pressure for 1-3 minutes per leg.
Taking slow deep breaths while stimulating this point will soothe the nervous system shifting your body into a calmer state (sympathetic mode).

I frequently use Neiguan (Pericardium 6) in clinic to promote a "rest & digest" state in patients.
By stimulating this point the parasympathetic nervous is activated via the vagus nerve pathways helping to slow heart rate, calm the mind reducing anxiety and promote digestion.

Combine acupressure on Pc6 with deep breathing exercises to reduce daily stress levels and for emotional regulation.
