Zusanli (St36) "Leg Three Miles" is one of the most powerful acupuncture points on the body. Legend has it that massaging this point gives you the strength to walk another three miles.

Known as the "point of longevity", it is used to boost digestive health, reduce fatigue, regulate the nervous system and strengthen immunity.

Press or massage daily/few times per week at home:
Small circles or steady pressure for 1-3 minutes per leg.
Taking slow deep breaths while stimulating this point will soothe the nervous system shifting your body into a calmer state (sympathetic mode).

I frequently use Neiguan (Pericardium 6) in clinic to promote a "rest & digest" state in patients.
By stimulating this point the parasympathetic nervous is activated via the vagus nerve pathways helping to slow heart rate, calm the mind reducing anxiety and promote digestion.

Combine acupressure on Pc6 with deep breathing exercises to reduce daily stress levels and for emotional regulation.

Paediatric acupuncture is safe and effective and helps support a child's development both physically and mentally. It helps by promoting the body's natural healing processes without overwhelming your child.

At The Little Acupuncture Room, we’re dedicated to supporting children with a wide range of health challenges. 🌈

This week, we were able to help young patients with asthma, eczema, depression, night terrors, and tics. Acupuncture offers gentle, natural support, helping little ones feel more balanced and resilient.

If your child is facing any of these concerns or others, we’re here to help. Book a session and let’s support their health, together.

You can book your child in to see the team easily and online. Simply head to our online booking page: https://yourclinic.care/practice/the-little-acupuncture-room/?view=true

Another happy parent and child. Always wonderful for us to read.

Our hearts are full when we're able to make a difference in a child's life — and, in turn, their whole family's too. 💛

“I found The Little Acupuncture Room while looking to support my son with his sleep difficulties. After just a few sessions, I was amazed by the positive changes in his sleep. The team we met – Rebecca, Mandy, Fabiana, Ania, and Berenice – have been truly wonderful. They’re incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and create such a calm, welcoming space.

At first, my son was unsure about the idea of needles, but he was introduced to them so gently and respectfully that he quickly felt at ease. The team have such a lovely way with him – in his own words, he feels ‘very zen’ after each session.

Thank you The Little Acupuncture Room!”

If your child could use a little extra support — whether it’s with sleep, anxiety, digestion or anything else — we’d love to welcome you.

It might surprise some to learn that many children love their cupping treatments. When used carefully and appropriately, it can help support immunity, anxiety and ease muscle tension. Kids often leave smiling asking when they can come back.

At The Little Acupuncture Room, every child’s treatment is carefully tailored to their unique needs.

One of the gentle, non-needle techniques we may use is cupping—an ancient Chinese therapy that has been used for centuries. We often use cupping for acute conditions like coughs, colds, or muscle pain. It can also be beneficial for sports injuries or areas of tension.

Cupping involves placing a glass or silicone cup on the skin using gentle suction. Most children find it fun and relaxing—once they’ve tried it, they often ask for it again! We always explain each step so that your child feels comfortable and involved in their own healing journey.

Another wonderful review from a happy parent. We are very grateful for shared experiences at The Little Acupuncture Room.

When Abbey first brought her toddler to The Little Acupuncture Room, she was told by the NHS that there was no proof acupuncture could help. But she trusted her instincts—and she’s so glad she did.

Her little one has cerebral palsy, and they originally came to help with stiff muscles and tricky emotional responses. What they found was so much more—a space where both mother and child felt seen, nurtured, and supported.

"We attend a lot of medical appointments, which can be hard, but Saturday mornings at The Little Acupuncture Room are something I look forward to. The women here are so passionate and genuine in their support for families—it’s magic!"

Abbey, thank you for sharing your journey. We feel so honoured to be part of your family’s care. 💛

A term's worth of learning with constant concentration can mentally exhaust our children.
Support your child's development and wellbeing with visiting The Little Acupuncture Room. Paediatric treatments are adapted to be quick, comfortable and non-invasive. Fine needles may be used, but not in all cases, soft touch techniques or gentle tools are used to stimulate acupuncture points that are soothing and effective.

At this point in the school year, many children feel especially drained. Energy levels dip, emotions run high, and the usual routines can start to feel like a real effort. Even positive changes like moving up a year group or looking forward to the holidays can feel overwhelming for young nervous systems.

At The Little Acupuncture Room, we often see children needing a little extra support during this end-of-year stretch. And in our newsletter, we share gentle tips and seasonal advice to help you support your child through it all.

Cupping is one of the many non-needle techniques that we frequently use on our paediatric patients to help with symptoms involving respiratory and musculoskeletal conditions, and the kids love it.

At The Little Acupuncture Room, every child’s treatment is carefully tailored to their unique needs.

Shonishin is an effective non-needle technique of Japanese origin that we use in The Little Acupuncture Room to treat babies and children.

Pure joy! 😄 Here’s Rebecca, TLAR founder and one of our wonderful acupuncturists, sharing a lighthearted moment with little Salem during his Shonishin treatment from the comfort of a beanbag!

Shonishin is a gentle, non-needle technique from Japanese acupuncture that uses soft tapping and stroking to stimulate energy flow—perfect for little ones.

This is just one of the many non-needle methods we use to tailor treatments to each child, ensuring their experience is effective and enjoyable

Children love having moxibustion as part of their treatment, especially those with cold feet. Warming 'Bubbling Spring' acupuncture point on the sole of the foot with moxibustion is a favourite with children who visit us at The Little Acupuncture Room.

At The Little Acupuncture Room, every child’s treatment is carefully tailored to their unique needs.

One of the gentle, non-needle techniques we may use is moxibustion. This ancient Chinese therapy involves warming specific acupuncture points with a dried herb called mugwort. For children with conditions that are “energetically cold” (in Chinese medicine terms), moxa can bring comforting warmth and help restore balance.

Using a cigar-like moxa stick, we hold it close to the skin without contact, creating a soothing warmth that many children find deeply relaxing. We always explain each step to you and your child, ensuring they feel comfortable and involved in their own healing journey.
