✨ Midwife Tip of the Week ✨

Early labour is the perfect time to prioritise self-care 💛.

Creating a calming environment at home can make a huge difference to how your body (and your birth hormones!) respond.

Here are some simple, soothing ways to support yourself:
🕯️ Create a calming space — dim the lights, add music, or use calming scents like lavender.
🛁 Take a warm bath or shower — ease muscle tension and encourage relaxation.
💨 Breathe deeply — in for 4, out for 6 to calm your body and mind.
🌀 Keep moving — gentle swaying, walking, or hip circles can ease discomfort and help baby descend.
💧 Stay fuelled — sip water and eat light, nourishing snacks.
😴 Rest when you need to — short naps or lying down can help preserve energy.

Remember: calmness and oxytocin go hand in hand. You’re already doing amazing.
