Yesterday, the sun shone over us in all its glory for family and friends to celebrate the life of Linda Reed.

The horse drawn hearse along with the family set off from Witheridge Sport club / football ground and processed through Witheridge to the Church. As Linda was a former resident and carnival queen, it was only right that she arrived in style. Thank you to Camilla (Tiggy) Waterer for the excellent horsemanship displayed.

Along with the beautiful willow coffin, please feel free to view the glorious floral tributes produced by Harriet @ Harriet’s Flower Room.

Once again, thank you to the family for choosing a small independent family business to look after their loved one.

After coming across this post, Jim Carrey has really captured the feelings and stages our families go through in their grieving process.

Please give it a read ❤️

Jim Carrey once said: Grief is not just an emotion—it’s an unraveling, a space where something once lived but is now gone. It carves through you, leaving a hollow ache where love once resided.

In the beginning, it feels unbearable, like a wound that will never close. But over time, the raw edges begin to mend. The pain softens, but the imprint remains—a quiet reminder of what once was. The truth is, you never truly "move on." You move with it. The love you had does not disappear; it transforms. It lingers in the echoes of laughter, in the warmth of old memories, in the silent moments where you still reach for what is no longer there. And that’s okay.

Grief is not a burden to be hidden. It is not a weakness to be ashamed of. It is the deepest proof that love existed, that something beautiful once touched your life. So let yourself feel it. Let yourself mourn. Let yourself remember.

There is no timeline, no “right” way to grieve. Some days will be heavy, and some will feel lighter. Some moments will bring unexpected waves of sadness, while others will fill you with gratitude for the love you were lucky enough to experience.

Honor your grief, for it is sacred. It is a testament to the depth of your heart. And in time, through the pain, you will find healing—not because you have forgotten, but because you have learned how to carry both love and loss together.

This morning we had the stunning Triumph Bonneville arrive from Motorcycle Funerals with around 70 motorcycles to come and pay their respects and celebrate the life of Kevin Barry Foy.

Kev and his wife Trish have spent the majority of their lives producing stunning leather goods, which took them all over the country attending motorcycle shows and rallies selling the unique crafted leather produce.

Steve and the team from Wrap it Graphics produced the stunning gold Celtic boarder around the coffin along with Fenral dogs and tree of life vinyls. Which symbolise a lot of hard work and attention to detail Kev and Trish have embellished not just in their working lives but also in their free time. Kev is widely known and respected in the circuit of bikers for his beautifully produced leather goods.

We had a smooth ride down along the A361 to the Tiverton Hotel to meet up with a even larger group of attendees / bikers to convoy along the M5 with the high number entourage for Kev’s last ride out to the East Devon Crematorium.

Nic Ling a long established friend and ORGI MCC member took a beautiful service for Kev, Trish and family. A truly lovely tribute to a long standing friend. And not forgetting a lovely tribute from Kev’s grandson.

Please feel free to view a few photos from this morning and a video of Trish getting to ride pillion with Kev into the grounds of the crematorium.

As we approx the end of another year, it’s only natural to remember and reflect on the loved ones we have lost.

May I take the opportunity to thank you all for trusting us to take care of the arrangements and carrying out the funerals for your loved one. Thank you for supporting our independent family firm and for the many recommendations received which resulted in the families choosing us.

We have seen so much support to the bereaved and their families from yourselves with so many unselfish acts of kindness and very generous donations received even in these difficult and unsettled times.

We would also like to thank our vicars, ministers, Church volunteers and celebrants for the continued help and care shown to our customers and support to ourselves. To all the suppliers, producing beautiful floral tributes, stunning coffins and one off order of services. To the Bearers, limousine provider and their drivers, to the name takers, for the stunning memorial stones. And to everyone who assists us to make our service complete.

As usual I will be continuing to live on site and all over the Christmas and New Year period. The kettle ☕️ 🫖 and the wood burner 🔥 😊 are always on. And please don’t hesitate to message / call if anything is required or you just need somebody to chat to. Phone, messenger, Email and WhatsApp are always answered immediately 📞💻📱

Have a relaxed Christmas and best wishes for the new year 🎄❄️ xx

After coming across this lovely poem online, I thought it should be shared as our profession isn’t always the easiest at times! 🎩

But, clearly somebody has taken the time and consideration to sum it up in to some beautifully written verses ☺️

This afternoon Sue Harrison of South Molton in Bloom popped in to collect a sponsorship cheque. These funds will go towards plants and materials aiding the hardwork Sue and the team put into keeping the town bright and cheerful. As we go into uncertain times with more financial hardships, we hope that the vibrant flowers will help to lift our mood and celebrate the seasons ahead 🌹🪻🌸🌺🌷🌻🌼

Thank you to Karolina Andreasova for taking the time to take the photograph 📸
