Becky Fausset Counselling

Becky Fausset Counselling Counsellor: practising in Rose and Crown clinic, walk & talk and online. I offer a safe and supportive space for you to do this.

I am Person Centred Integrative counsellor that lives and practices in North Devon in person, online and by telephone. As a Person-centred counsellor I realise and recognise the human potential in everyone, and in turn how counselling can have the incredible ability to help clients facilitate change in their lives. I treat clients with empathy, unconditionally and without judgement, and am guided by the journey that you wish to follow in our sessions. I have been working with counselling clients for the past 2 years, and prior to this worked as a homeless support worker for 25 years. This previous experience enabled me to gain a deep understanding of how people are affected by mental health and addiction issues, and enhances my work as a counsellor. Sobriety and Grey Area Drinking Coach

I am also qualified as an Accredited Sober Coach (through the Soberclub) specifically working with Grey area drinkers. Grey area drinking means that you haven't reached 'rock bottom' and are physically dependent on alcohol, but that you struggle to stop or reduce your drinking. I incorporate support around this area within my practice. How I Work

I offer a free initial phone-call for clients so we can chat and you can decide if you feel I am the right ‘fit’ for you as your counsellor. Ultimately the therapeutic relationship between client and counsellor is what matters most in counselling, and can have the most positive affect on your therapeutic journey. I charge £40.00 per 55 min therapy session. Contact

Walk and Talk Therapy is becoming increasingly recognised for the amazing benefits it can offer to clients on their therapeutic journey. Being out in nature has a clinically proven physiological effect on us. It reduces blood flow to the area of our brain dealing with the fight or flight response (stress), and increases blood flow in the areas associated with empathy and connection with others.

I offer Walk and Talk counselling sessions around our farm near Chulmleigh, and I also offer sessions indoors and on Zoom. For further info please click on the link to my website: https://www.authenticyou.uk

Please feel free to get in touch if any of this interests you.

Once you remove the 'mask of alcohol' you can begin to discover the real you. The person you were before you started drinking. Alcohol provides us with a false mask we feel we need in order to cope with / enjoy all sorts of situations in our lives. It dulls our spirit and keeps us stuck in a place where we feel lost without it. The good news is you can reverse this negative thinking when you stop drinking. Rather than feeling lost without it we can get to a place where we love life without it! I promise you it can happen you just need to put in the work.

Grey Area Drinking: this is a term originally coined by the American health coach Jolene Park. It describes the type of drinker that is neither physically dependent or a take it or leave it occasional drinker, but someone in between that struggles with their alcohol consumption. If someone is questioning their alcohol intake then it is a clear indicator that something needs to change for them. According to Public Health England after the first lockdown in England, the number of people drinking more than 14 units a week increased, and has remained at these levels since.

In this engaging talk, Jolene Park shares her experience of gray area drinking — the kind of drinking where there’s no rock bottom, but you drink as a way to manage anxiety and then regret how much and how often you drink. Regardless of the cause of anxiety or discomfort in your life, and regard...

We all have vulnerable times in our lives when it’s ok to ask for support.
Struggling with your mental health does not mean you are weak, instead it may mean that you are actually connecting to your emotions possibly for the first time.
Taking the first step and asking for help can often be very difficult but the rewards can be life-changing.
