This thoughtful treat was kindly gifted to Aveley Medical Centre by the wonderfully pleasant gentleman who experienced a fall on the high street two weeks ago. We dedicate this to all the compassionate Aveley residents and Police staff who stood by him in the rain—holding umbrellas over him, keeping him warm with extra layers, offering hot drinks, and supporting his back with such care. Their kindness was truly heart‑warming and a beautiful reminder of the strong community spirit that thrives in Aveley.

🕊️ Funeral Details 🕊️

We shared these details previously, but wanted to let you know that the funeral procession will be pausing outside Aveley Medical Centre at approximately 1:00pm, for anyone who would like to pay their respects as we pass.

For our beloved Wife, Mum, Nan – Beryl Tonks (Nurse Beryl).

Beryl Margaret Tonks passed away peacefully on Christmas Day.

Beryl’s service will take place on
Monday 26th January 2026 at 1:30pm
in the South Chapel at South Essex Crematorium,
Corbets Tey, RM14 2UY.

Following the service, everyone is warmly invited to join Terry and the family for a wake with light refreshments at:
Aveley Social Club, Mill Road, RM15 4SJ.

All are welcome to come together to remember, celebrate, and say goodbye to a truly special lady.

The family have requested family flowers only.
A donation box will be available on the day, with all donations in Beryl’s memory going to Little Havens Children’s Charity.

The procession will be leaving Mum and Dad’s at around 1:00pm.
All are welcome to follow the procession, or alternatively meet us at the crematorium.

Please feel free to share this with anyone who knew and loved Beryl — she touched so many lives and will never be forgotten.

Afternoon,
We are holding another Covid and Flu walk-in clinic this Saturday between 9am - 12:30pm if you have yet to receive yours please come along.
To be eligible for a covid vaccine you MUST be 75yrs+ or severely immunosuppressed.
We still have pre-bookable slots if you prefer during the afternoon also on this Saturday, please contact the surgery to book.

We are holding a walk-in covid and flu clinic this Saturday between 9am - 12:30pm if you are eligible (Over 75yrs old). If you would rather book your appointment time, please contact the surgery, pre-bookable appointments are available from 1pm - 3pm.

We have reintroduced the self check-in screen to reduce queues at reception, you can find this handy contraption located on the righthand side as you enter the waiting room. Just follow the instructions on screen then take a seat.
