Did you know that the NHS App will now be able to show patients in England an estimated waiting time for their hospital treatment at the NHS acute trust they’ve been referred to.

Also available on the App, patients will now be able to view all their prescription details, order repeat prescriptions and generate a barcode that can be shown to a pharmacy for collection without a paper prescription from your GP.

To download visit your App Store, and search for NHSApp.

Requesting repeat prescriptions: Please put in your request up to 14 days before you are due to run out. Our usual turnaround time is 3 to 5 working days - this for the prescription team to process the request and for the GPs to sign them off. Pharmacies also need time to order and dispense your medication.

It helps us all, if you allow this time to pass before collecting your prescription from the pharmacy.

Please note, we do not send any automated texts saying your prescription is ready. Speak to your pharmacy to see if they offer this service.

Please use the NHS App to request your repeat prescriptions - it is the quickest and easiest option, or see our website for more information. Do contact us direct if you are having any problems getting your prescription.

Many of our community pharmacy colleagues are struggling with workload along with a shortage of pharmacists, and as a result, many have had to reduce the amount of blister packs (dosset boxes) they supply to patients.

Blister packs are not funded by the NHS and there is no legal obligation for pharmacies to offer this service.

Although the surgery issues your prescription we cannot influence the packaging offered by the pharmacy. If you find that you are affected by this change, you will need to remember to request your own prescriptions via your surgery. The easiest and safest way is to use the NHS app on a smartphone or iPad if you have one.
