A lot of families tell us it helps them feel more organised and reassured when planning ahead. And if you’re booking more than two months in advance, you can secure the stay with just a 25% deposit, which many people find makes things a little easier. 💛

We had a lovely time getting creative in the kitchen as our residents enjoyed making delicious trifles together. From layering to tasting, it was a fun, hands on activity filled with smiles and a few sweet treats along the way! 💜

Fun and friendly competition filled the day as staff and residents faced off in an exciting volleyball match! 🏐😄 Laughter, teamwork, and great sportsmanship were on full display as everyone got involved.

We also explored the art of balancing figures, testing patience, focus, and creativity, proving that a steady hand and a little determination go a long way! ⚖️🎨

Moments like these strengthen connections and create memories we’ll cherish. 💙

🏠WE ARE ALL SAFE AND DRY🏠

We're aware of rumours circulating that 'a South Petherton care home' has flooded this week, and wanted to reassure you that this is not the case.

It seems that there has been a mix up with the events which took place almost a year ago to the day, when sadly the ground floor of our lovely home was impacted by flooding in 2025.

12 months on, and we're really pleased that, thanks to the implementation of additional flood prevention measures, along with the support of Somerset Care, The South Petherton Community Flood Group and our brilliant local community, Burnworthy House has stayed safe and dry despite the recent extreme weather.

In fact, we will very shortly be reopening our ground floor to new residents following an extensive refurbishment programme. We are so excited to show you all of the work that has been done - please watch this space!

As always, we'd like to say a huge thank you to our local community for your support and concern. If you can please help us to spread the word that all is well at Burnworthy House, we would be most grateful. Thank you ❤️

From the playful textures of bubble wrap art to the calm, mindful beauty of flower arranging, today was all about exploring creativity in different ways. One activity sparked energy and experimentation, the other brought balance and natural elegance, but together they reminded us that creativity has many forms. 😍

Whether it’s popping patterns or placing petals, every process has its own magic 🌸

✨ A little late… but far too special not to share! ✨

Apologies for the delay, our recent ground floor refurbishment has been keeping us busy (and it’ll be opening very soon 👀), but we couldn’t let these memories pass by without sharing them. 😍

Christmas and New Year 2025 were truly wonderful for our residents 🎄🎉
From beautiful table decorations and a special visit from Father Christmas, to joyful Christmas Day and New Year’s Day celebrations, it was a festive season full of warmth, smiles, and togetherness. 🎅

A real highlight of New Year’s Day was heading out to watch the annual Tractor Run, organised by the brilliant Somerset Tractor Runners 🚜
We were especially delighted to take our resident farmer along. 💙

This fantastic charity event raised an incredible £5,992.25, which will be split between Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and Farmerados , what an achievement! 👏

We were delighted to enjoy some wonderful festive moments after Christmas with a special visit from local singer Joe Bampton Time Flies Music , and also our fantastic local bell ringers. 🎶🔔

They filled our home with beautiful Christmas carols, spreading joy, warmth, and plenty of smiles for everyone to enjoy. A huge thank you to Joe and the bell ringers for sharing their time and talent with us, it truly made our festive season extra special. ❤️

✨ Christmas Activity Round-Up ✨

The lead-up to Christmas has been full of creativity, laughter, and festive fun! 🎄

Our residents worked together to create a beautiful natural wreath for the home, bringing a lovely seasonal touch to our surroundings. The activity team also got hands-on making snow dough from corn flour and oil, it felt just like snow, complete with a satisfying crunch! ❄️

There were plenty of laughs along the way, especially when everyone realised they’d ended up looking like ducks… we’re seriously considering entering them in the Easter duck race! 🦆😄

Festive crafts continued with decorating Yule logs and making some good old-fashioned paper chains, filling the home with Christmas cheer and wonderful memories.

A big thank you to everyone involved for making the season so special ❤️✨
