What is Wetwheels? Great question, Val. Let’s talk about it. 🛥️🌊

We loved this recent comment from Val Hayward who asked her Google Nest what Wetwheels is because she’d never heard of us, and wouldn’t normally be interested in doing anything on a boat.

That kind of curiosity and feedback means a lot to us.

So, if you’re wondering the same, here’s the short answer:

👉 Wetwheels provides fully accessible power boating experiences for people of all ages and abilities - including those with profound disabilities, sensory processing differences, and complex needs.
👉 Our boats are purpose-built, not adapted later, meaning any disability, including wheelchair users, can come on board without transferring and even take the helm if they’d like.
👉 We operate from locations around the UK—including right here in the Solent—with trips ranging from short sensory experiences to full-day adventures.

Wetwheels is not just for children. Many of our participants are adults and we know how important it is that trips feel safe, inclusive, and empowering.

We know boats aren’t for everyone. But for many people, especially those who never thought they'd experience the sea, a Wetwheels trip can be something really special. Whether it’s about sensory calm, adventure, independence, or simply trying something new with people who “get it”—we’re here to make that possible.

So help us get the message out there because more people need to know about the incredible work we do at Wetwheels Solent. Share this post with your network and send us your questions, we’d love to answer them!
