π¨ MENINGITIS B VACCINES IN STOCK π¨
If you were born before 2015, you are unlikely to have received the MenB vaccine as part of the routine UK childhood immunisation programme.
Following the recent tragic news of a student death and multiple confirmed cases of Meningitis B linked to the Reading/Oxfordshire area, awareness around meningococcal infection has understandably increased.
At Queensferry Pharmacy we currently have Meningitis B vaccines available for eligible private vaccination appointments.
Meningitis B can progress rapidly and early symptoms can often resemble flu-like illness.
Symptoms may include:
β’ Fever
β’ Severe headache
β’ Neck stiffness
β’ Sensitivity to light
β’ Vomiting
β’ Drowsiness or confusion
β’ A rash that does not fade under pressure
Young people, students and those living in shared accommodation can be at increased risk.
If you would like advice regarding MenB vaccination availability, suitability or booking an appointment, please contact the pharmacy team directly on 0131 331 4347 or book via setmore
Stay vigilant. Early recognition and treatment are vital. π
