Developmental baby class (suitable from birth to pre-walking). Formerly known as Sensory Explorers. Hi I’m Gem, the founder of Lovabelle (2015).

I’m a qualified Infant Massage and Baby Yoga Instructor and have worked in education for many years. I studied child development and have a great insight into babies brain development and the importance of early bonds and attachments with parents and caregivers. I left my job as a Tutor in August 2015 after my maternity leave ended and I made the decision to start up a gorgeous little business called Sensory Explorers. After 8 successful years and thousands of babies through our doors, it was time to expand and share our classes with others. We renamed the business Lovabelle which you now all know and love and now run a s a Franchise. I am so excited to meet all of you and your little ones to pass on my knowledge and share those magical moments with you and your baby. We are a Parent and Baby Group designed to encourage your babies physical and brain development. Babies are born with many sensory pathways in their brains which disappear if they are not reinforced. Lovabelle's carefully selected activities encourage the use of all babies senses (including their vestibular development which will improve balance) reinforcing those sensory pathways and helping little ones to develop and reach key milestones such as sitting, crawling and even talking. Our baby room at Lovabelle HQ is fully equipped with its own sensory area full of developmental equipment and sensory stations for babies to freely explore. The structured activities your baby will be introduced to include music & movement, messy play, action songs, massage / yoga, visual shows and much more fun! I am fully trained in Infant Massage & Baby Yoga, DBS checked, first aid trained and fully insured. Lovabelle is a proud member of The Children’s Activities Association giving you peace of mind that your baby is in the best hands. I hope to hear from you soon

I’m so excited to welcome all our new babies and their grown-ups to Lovabelle 🤍

If you’re joining us for the first time, here’s everything you need to know before you arrive:

Street parking is available outside, from Tesco’s towards our door.

⏰ Arrival:
Please arrive 5 minutes before class so I can introduce myself and help you settle in.

👟 Shoes:
Shoes off please, to keep our baby mats clean and comfy.

🚼 Prams & Changing:
• Secure pram park available
• Baby changing facilities on site – just bring your changing bag

My name’s Gem, I’m a Mam to my gorgeous Alfie. I’ve been running Lovabelle for 10 years now 🥹. I’m a trained baby massage and baby yoga instructor. You and your baby are in very safe, experienced hands.

This week we’ll be exploring sound, lights and music, giving babies the chance to listen, watch, feel and move.

Music helps support early brain development, language skills and coordination — even tiny movements like tapping and clapping help babies learn cause and effect.

As we head into the New Year, I wanted to say thank you — before the celebrations and messages take over 🤍

Thank you to each and every one of you, old, new and current, for choosing to spend your maternity leave with Lovabelle and for trusting me to help your babies thrive. Your support means everything, and none of this is achieved by me alone — it happens because of the community we’ve built together, where families support, recognise and lift each other.

I’m wishing you all a very healthy and happy year in 2026.

Reflecting back on 2025 I’ve had lots of highlights which I will treasure 🫶
🌟 I celebrated 10 years of Lovabelle — a huge milestone.
💜 Together we’ve raised thousands of pounds for local charities through our sponsored Pyjamarama and children in need teddy bears picnic.
🏆 I had the incredible honour to be nominated by you all and make it to the finals in the Best of South Tyneside Awards, and was also shortlisted as ‘Heart of the Community’ in the Love South Tyneside Awards 🥹🫶
👶 We welcomed over 1,000 babies into our baby room this year for sensory classes and baby massage, and introduced a beautiful new class in partnership with Tiny Lives Trust, supporting families who have spent time in NICU and transitional care.

I’ve been lucky enough to witness first steps, first rolls, first giggles and to finish the year, many babies first Christmas🎄 — moments I’ll always treasure.

I’m leaving 2025 as a very proud group leader and can’t wait for all the exciting things that 2026 will bring.

A huge favourite! Help your little one discover those tiny hands and develop rhythm through music and movement. Think tiny tambourines, soft rhythms, and the cutest little rockstar moments

🌙 Space Week
Silvery tones, reflections, sparkles, glowing planets and the calm, dreamy atmosphere of outer space. This one is simply beautiful — a whole world for your little explorer to look up to.

And that’s not all! Each class is designed to support early development while giving you something lovely to look forward to each week.

Our current families have already filled almost every space — but we have a small number of spots now available if you’d like to come along. I’d love you to join us ✨

That lovely little blur between Christmas and New Year… where nobody really knows what day it is, you don’t need to be anywhere, and the pace finally slows right down.

It’s the one week of the year where we can just breathe, settle into the cosy chaos, and spend unrushed time with the people who matter most.

Whether you’re out on winter walks, snuggled up watching films, or just letting the days drift a bit, I hope this in-between time brings you calm moments and memories you’ll treasure.

✨ Christmas Eve Magic ✨

It’s Christmas Eve — a night that sometimes feels even more exciting than Christmas Day itself. The build-up, the anticipation, the little rituals… for many of you, it’s the start of years of traditions with your little ones. It truly is the most magical time of the year.

I’m sharing this as I get ready to put out the plate for Santa and Rudolph, open our Christmas Eve box, make a hot chocolate for our Christmas film, and wait for my little one to drift off so I can step into my Santa role.

When the world feels a little quieter and time seems to soften.

Longer cuddles, tiny moments that don’t ask for anything other than your presence. The kind of memories you don’t realise you’re making until you look back.

This is the magic — not in doing more, but in slowing down and holding them close while it’s still now 💜

Our Story

My name is Gemma and I am the founder of Sensory Explorers. I am a qualified teacher of 7 years and studied child development for 6 years. I have a great insight into babies brain development and the importance of early bonds and attachments with parents and caregivers. I left my job as a Teacher in August 2015 after my maternity leave ended and made the decision to start Sensory Explorers. I attended several baby groups with my son and not only did they help his development, but it gave me the chance to meet other m**s who I remained good friends with. I am so excited to meet all of you parents and your little explorers to pass on my knowledge and share magical moments with you at Sensory Explorers. Sensory Explorers is a Parent and Baby Group designed to encourage your babies physical and brain development. Babies are born with many sensory pathways in their brains which disappear if they are not reinforced. Sensory Explorers select activities in their sessions which encourage use of all of the five senses reinforcing all of your babies sensory pathways and help your little explorers to develop and reach key milestones such as sitting, crawling or even talking. These activities include messy play, music, exercising, sensory domes and much more fun! I hope to hear from you soon
