Yesterday we said goodbye to our friend Joan. She had worked alongside us getting the voices of people with learning disabilities heard for many years.
She was involved in work around diabetes, mindfulness and safeguarding. Always friendly cheerful and positive and ready to help. She will be greatly missed.

Broken Promises

10 years on from the Winterbourne View scandal not enough progress has been made. Abuse is still being uncovered and there are still over 2,000 people with learning disabilities and/or autism living in secure hospitals.
