It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Alita. After a courageous battle, she passed peacefully at home on Saturday 27th December 2025 with her family by her side.
Alita was truly one in a million, caring, humorous, brave, and determined. Devoted to her family and partner, she was also a cherished friend to many. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Could all family and friends please meet for service on 21st January 2026 at 11.45 St Matthews church, Jarrow followed by a burial at Jarrow Cemetery at 12.30. A celebration of Alita’s life will follow at the Iona Club, Hebburn.
Family flowers only. A collection box will be available in church for any donations to ‘Cancer Connections’. A charity that she held close to her heart.

Allen Watkinson
Fellgate, Jarrow however, always a South Shields lad at heart.

It is with broken hearts, we inform everyone of the sad sudden passing of our dearly beloved Dad Allen who passed away at home on the 27th December 2025 aged 79 yrs old. Husband of the late Joan Beavers Watkinson, much loved Dad of Paula and Lee, Father in Law to Gary and Judith, Grandad to Joe and Owen, Grandad in Law to Nicole and Great Grandad to Noah. Dad was the most caring, generous and thoughtful man and we were so fortunate to have him in our lives. He put a smile on the face of everyone that knew him, and we miss him so very much but we know he is now back with our beloved Mam. Always at his happiest helping someone with a screwdriver in his hand or on the golf course of which he was a proud member of Boldon GC.
Could all friends and family please meet for service on the 23rd January 2026 at 1.15pm at South Shields Crematorium followed by a celebration of the great man’s life at the Little Haven Hotel, South Shields. All are welcome.
Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if so desired to The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) on the day.
Rest in peace Dad, heaven has gained another angel.

Frank Martin
South Shields

Peacefully passed away on 27th December 2025, Aged 84 years.
Devoted Husband to Enid and Dad to Paul, Derek and Allison. Loving Granda to Jennifer, James, Thomas, Oliver and Lucy, and Great Granda to Violet.
Frank will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Please meet for the Funeral Service on Tuesday 20th January 9.45am at South Shields Crematorium.
No flowers please.
Donations if so desired to Cancer Research can be made at the Crematorium. After the service all are welcome back to the Jack Clark Bowling Centre to raise a glass to celebrate Frank's life.

We would sadly like to announce the passing of the late Jacqueline Walters (Nee Brown) peacefully at St Benedict's Hospice after fighting a tough battle with cancer on Monday 15th December 2025, aged 64 years.

Devoted husband Neil. Much loved daughter Katie and brother Graham. She will be reunited with her sister Christine. Jacqueline will be sorely missed by all her close friends and all who knew her.

Please meet for funeral service on Monday 2nd February 2026 at All Saints Parish, Cleadon at 10:30am followed by service at South Shields Crematorium at 11:15am.
There will be a reception after where mourners can share and reflect on Jacqui's life.

All flowers are welcome, as a family we recommend Nature's gifts, Boldon Colliery - 0191 536 0111.
Donations if so desired to Cancer Connections - South Shields and St Benedict's, all donations may be received at the Church and Crematorium.
We would also like to say a massive thank you to all the hospital's and nurse's who helped Jacqueline in her final moments ongoing care.

Sadly passed away on Tuesday 30th December 2025, Aged 77 years.

Devoted Husband to late Margaret and Father to Daniel and Craig. Father-in-law to Cindy and Devoted loving Granda to George .
Brother to George, Thomas, Susan, Maureen and Brother in Law to Sheila. Charlie will be greatly missed by all his loving family and friends.

Please meet for the Funeral Service on Monday 26th January 2026 13.15pm at South Shields Crematorium.
No flowers please. Donations if so desired to Toy Trucks, all donations may be reived at the Crematorium. After the service all are welcome back to South Shields Football Club the Mariners to raise a glass to Celebrate Charlie's life.

Grace will be truly missed by all her loving family and friends and all who knew her.

In loving memory of Matty Harrison, aged 87 years, who sadly passed away on the 19th December 2025. Beloved dad of Allan , Tracy, Caroline and Matthew. Father in law to Lorraine and Ian. Much loved grandad to Devon, Allanah, Charlie , George and Grace. Matty will be truly missed by all of his loving family, friends and all who knew him. Please meet for his service on Monday 12th January 2026 at South Shields Crematorium at 9.45am, followed by interment at Harton Cemetery at 10.30am . A celebration of Matty's life will continue at the Hedworth Hall, South Shields . Terence (Terry) Coyne

Sadly passed away peacefully on Friday 19th December 2025, aged 84 years, surrounded by family.

Terry will be truly missed by his beloved wife Carol, his devoted sons Paul, Stephen and Martin and their partners Kathryn and Lorraine, his cherished grandchildren and their mothers Lyn and Karen, his dear sister Mary, and all his loving family and friends, and all who knew him.

Please meet for the funeral service on Thursday 22nd January 2026 at St Bede's RC Church at 1:15pm followed by committal at South Shields Crematorium at 2pm.

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our beloved Teresa who died peacefully at Harton Grange Care Home on Thursday 18th December 2025 aged 95 years.
She was a devoted and loving wife to the late Sid and a caring Auntie to her many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Teresa was the heart of our family. Her kindness and 'one in a million' personality will be remembered by all who knew her.
Please join us on Thursday 15th January 2026 at 10.30am at South Shields Crematorium to celebrate Teresa's life. Family flowers only please. The wake will take place to celebrate her life together with Friends & Family at Hebburn Iona Social Club from 11:00am.

All are welcome to stay at the Hedworth hall to continue the celebration of Jo's life. Jo requests no flowers as she would have liked donations to go cancer connections a charity that she's held close to her heart.

Anthony Robson Brown (Tony) passed away 18th December 2025 peacefully at Chichester Court with his family around him loving husband of Babs. Dad of Anthony ,Wayne and Sam, father in law to Vicky and much loved grandad and great grandad. He is resting at Tynedale Family Funerals in South Shields, his funeral is on 7th January 2026 at 2pm at South Shields Crematorium. Family flowers only please, there will be a collection box for Chichester Care Home, as he loved the activities . All welcome back to the Simonside Club. If you can please wear a blue tie, if not black is fine.
