The 4th funded Get Back to You program is starting from November 3rd!

It is a huge privilege to have received backing from the Barbour Foundation to support people in the local community who are going through a tough time - especially in the run up to Christmas.

The focus this time is on issues caused by, or associated with, underlying grief of any kind.

Please help me to get this program filled asap by sharing this or reaching out to friends or family.

Sadly we don’t always know how much people are struggling, so please help me to put this funding to good use 👍🏻

To get in touch about the program please go to the website via the link in this post, read the info and check out the evaluation reports from the previous programs. There is a contact form at the bottom of the page to register your interest. Thankyou 🙏🏻

Get Back to You Program 4 will be starting up from November 3rd!

This program has been made possible through funding from The Barbour Foundation so much love and thanks to them for supporting me in supporting you!

The program supports those in the community who feel they have "lost" themselves in some way, with a particular focus on supporting those affected by grief.

There are many ways in which we can feel bereaved, and not always due to the direct loss of a loved family member or friend.

The loss of a beloved pet, a job, a home, a loved one with dementia for example are all examples in which grief can play a big role.

Similarly, grief may not "just" be about experiencing the feeling itself - the effects of grief can hit us in different ways e.g. through a coping strategy which has turned into an addictive habit, PTSD symptoms such as nightmares or avoidance of certain places or situations, leading to increased isolation.

If this speaks to you, please get in touch. If you feel you know someone to whom the above may apply please pass on the details.

To find out more about the techniques used or apply for one of the funded places, please complete the contact form on the website here:

We recently passed the 2nd birthday of our CIC 🥳

I'm am forever grateful to be able to put the years of studying, training and experience to use in the local community.

Over the past year the CIC has continued to support people with on average one free and one heavily subsidised session given every week, as well as 20% discount given to various affiliated organisations and past Get Back to You participants.

I keep my "Simply Havening" sessions very reasonably priced and comparable to getting your nails or hair done!

It's been a particularly happy birthday thanks to the amazing Barbour Foundation who are funding the next round of the "Get Back to You Program" which is happening before Christmas!

Watch this space for details of how to apply for the program, but I'm hoping to help some folks feel a little better in the run up to the festive season, which I know can be a very difficult time of the year.

So THANKYOU Barbour Foundation for making this donation and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to us!

3 days of making connections, learning some new ways of working and also taking a few trips down memory lane (and putting a few of my own little demons to bed!) in the bag!

Have come home feeling very inspired and will be running another funded program in South Tyneside very soon, along with a new series of workshops to help people to take back control in their lives and move onwards and upwards 🐉

Wow - a full day of lectures and interactive sessions - just like being back at school again but with a *slightly* older brain 🤣

Main takeaways from today include:

- some great group work ideas to help with working through distressing emotions safely and with a real human presence
- new ideas on working with “parts” of ourselves to gain a better understanding of our reactions
- that understanding the science behind havening technique supports these other ways of working even more elegantly than even I realised 🤯
- connecting with practitioners from all over the world and using completely different healing modalities and finding so much in common 👏

Looking forward to day 2 (after a big sleep 😆)

Back in my old stomping ground of Oxford! No, this is not an attempt to recapture my wild student days - I’m here for a 3 day “Transform Trauma” conference with speakers such as Bessel van der Kolk, Dan Siegal & Richard Schwartz. I like to bring different modalities into my therapeutic work with clients and love to experience new methods so the next few days will be very busy but hopefully also very enriching for my own clients ☺️

Out and about recently meeting lots of lovely people doing lovely things in the community!

On Friday I attended Healthnet with Shirley from Trimmed Toned and Toddlers 'Fitness + Play' who talked about her "ageless fitness" classes for older people and the impact these are having on mobility and overall wellbeing, as well as her classes for mams with young children, where the children have lots of fun as well as growing up and seeing keeping fit and active as a normal part of life!
On Monday I attended the Health and Wellbeing Drop In provided by A better u at Cleadon Park Library as part of Carers Week. It was lovely to have a chat with some carers and to connect with services aimed at helping this sector of the community, as well as providing information about how Havening can be of value to those in challenging situations.

The latest "Get Back to You" trauma therapy program is coming to an end after a very busy 3 months. The feedback / data will be collated and presented very soon but it's wonderful to take a glance through the feedback forms and pick out some comments. I'm so pleased to have been able to help a wide variety of folk with this funded program🙏
