Our Friends & Family Test Results are in for January 2026. We are pleased with the results and how many patients have responded to the request to complete the short survey. We read all comments and take onboard the feedback. We are very pleased to see the callback service is working well and that more people are able to be seen with the new staff we have welcomed. We are also happy to see how impressed patients are with our inhouse phlebotomy, giving a more streamlined experience and sometimes faster results. As always, thanks again to all who have taken the time to fill it in and please continue to do so when you have had an appointment with us.

Is your health making it hard for you to work? Sometimes health problems like stress, back pain or long-term conditions make it hard to stay in work or return to work. If you’re finding it a struggle, an NHS WorkWell coach can help. It's a free NHS service and we can arrange for you to meet a WorkWell coach to see how they can help you. A WorkWell coach will listen to you, help you to make a plan, and put you in touch with services that can help.

This could include:
• Support from other health services, like pain or mental health teams
• Advice on benefits, money or housing
• Help with talking to your employer or making changes at work
• Links to local groups and activities

You don't have to manage alone.
Just ask your GP [edit/insert other posts as appropriate] about WorkWell. You can also find out more by watching this animation

Are you a female aged 47-50 who is yet to attend your Breast Screening?

Northern Cancer Voices, in partnership with CAJA Behavioural Scientists and the Northern Cancer Alliance, is holding an online focus group to better understand the barriers that prevent women from attending their first breast screening appointment.

They are specifically looking to speak with women aged 47–50 who have not yet attended their first breast screening. Your insight is vital. By hearing directly from those with lived experience of hesitation, uncertainty, or barriers, they can develop new, evidence‑based communications, resources, and campaigns that genuinely meet women where they are — and help increase uptake of this life‑saving service.

The focus group will be held online, and will provide a safe, supportive, and informal space for open conversation. Participants do not need any prior knowledge — just a willingness to share what might be stopping you from attending breast screening for the first time.

If anyone would like to take part or would like more information, they can contact us directly at info@northerncancervoices.co.uk.
