It certainly was a beautiful day today. We did some shopping at Silverlink and popped to The Lock for lunch and to enjoy a little sunshine an fresh air.
Whilst I’ve been relying on my make-up to provide a SPF, my skin told me on Saturday I need to up the SPF, so today I bought my La Roche Posay SPF 50 for daily use.
The rays can still be quite strong at this time of year so remember to pop on a SPF on a daily especially if you’re going out walking.
You need to protect your skin and reduce the risk of skin cancer.

Can’t you just feel the anticipation of spring. Despite the awful weather the beautiful spring flowers are popping up all over. I love all the spring flowers but my favourite is the snowdrop. What is yours?
Hopefully, the new month will bring us some sunshine and the opportunity to get out doors more and enjoy the beautiful coast and spring flowers.

I thought it was Saturday when I woke up yesterday! What a disappointment when it was only Thursday! This week has felt like an 8 day week!
At least I still have my sister shopping day to look forward to on Saturday

It was time to update my skills and knowledge so I can bring something new to the salon, challenge myself and maintain my membership to the Federation of Holistic Therapists. Learning something new just gives me a little buzz of excitement and freshness to my therapies.

So, the initial learning is complete, but practice and case studies need to be completed to get my certificate. If you're in the salon over the next few weeks, you may get a little taster session. The treatment can complement my current treatments or be a standalone treatment.

I can hear you ask what is the treatment and how will it benefit me?
The treatment is Ear Reflexology and ear seeds. Over the next few weeks I will give you more information about the treatment and when it will be available on the treatment menu.

What happened to the sun? It must have been too tired to last all day!
Sunny, but very cold when we arrived at Seaburn and cold and snow like rain when we left.

Lots of things occurring today, but the most lovely thing so far today is that sun is shining.
Doesn’t it make such a difference to how we all feel when the sun is out.

If you can try and make the most of it by getting wrapped up and spending even just 10 minutes outdoors.

Today is Random Act of Kindenss Day. The cencept was popularised by Anne Herbert in 1982. An act of kindness can benefit both the giver and receiver. As research shows that performing kind acts can boost happiness, reduce stress and release happy hormones. Mall acts of kindness can also create a ripple effect to those around use with more kindness being given and received. Kindness doesn’t have to have a monetary value. Can you create an extra little piece of kindness today.

This Chinese New Years Day celebrates the year of the Horse bringing optimism and opportunity for the year.

Shrove Tuesday or as most people know it as Pancake Day, the final day before the lent fast. Traditionally it was seen to be an opportunity for people to use up food before the fast.
The traditional topping for pancakes was lemon and sugar, but now have rich gourmet style toppings.
