                                            Let’s talk Perimenopause:
Perimenopause is the transitional period before menopause, with fluctuating hormone levels and changes in the menstrual cycle. It's a natural process that can last for several years as the ovaries gradually stop producing eggs and estrogen levels decline.
Key aspects of perimenopause:
Hormonal Changes:
The biggest change is the fluctuating levels of estrogen and progesterone, hormones that regulate the menstrual cycle.
Menstrual Cycle Changes:
Periods may become irregular, heavier, or lighter, and the cycle length can vary. Some women may experience longer or shorter cycles, or even skipped periods.
Symptoms:
Perimenopause can cause a range of physical and emotional symptoms, including hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disturbances, mood swings, vaginal dryness, and changes in libido.
Perimenopause can last for a few months to several years, with an average duration of three to four years.
While it can begin in some women in their 30s, it most often starts in women aged 40 to 44.
The experience of perimenopause varies greatly from woman to woman.
